Why did God choose to be a man?

Now you get it! This is true for everyone, including you. You like a god limited by human traits and concepts. I like one that isn’t. A real god is beyond what anyone likes.

No, not everyone. The one who believes the Bible worship a God as described in the Bible.

The Bible has no objective number of books. It is evidence of men writing stories about a god. Before the Bible, there was no god as presented in the Bible. The god stories were different. God isn’t limited by human stories about it.

Sounds like you know a lot about god. Where from cometh this deep knowlege?

Hopefully no one believes this. It is like saying that God is dead and is confined to the words of a book. Is the Spirit also dead ? The Word still goes out into the world. Once again a literal reading for some seems to define ‘word’ as the written word.

We are talking about the Bible, the written Word of God. It is the only written Word of God on earth.

Well the Bhagavad Gita preceded the Bible by centuries…..presenting what you might think of as Christian concepts such as eternal life ages before Christians were introduced to it. The OT certainly never speaks of it. Where did that inspiration come from and why didn’t the Bible speak of it from the start ? Did that inspiration go out into the world and eventually be absorbed into Christian thought ? God existed way before any account of Genesis…..because time does not exist in eternity.

Of course it does. It says it's the Word of God.

No, it doesn’t. The Bible doesn’t say a thing about its own contents. It can’t. It’s a book of various human writings thrown together to promote certain religious beliefs. The Bible makes no comment about the Bible because the Bible is not a sentient being able to reflect on itself. It’s is compendium of human religious mythological writings.

But the Bhagavad Gita is not the Word of God...is it? It doens't matter that it is older. Man ws screwed up long before the Old Testament came along.

Of course the Old Testament speaks of eternal life.

Of course God existed before the account of (Genesis). I have never said otherwise.

It’s good that you realize it is only a subjective opinion based on your personal interpretation of a work of religious mythology.

Point being, my view is not based on 'me' as yours is. Mine is based on the Bible the Word of God.

Who is to say what the word of god is? God can speak through any and all human writing if it so chooses.

We who are Christian worship God as described in the Bible. We don't worship a god created in your brain...what a catastrophe.

The Christian god was created in the human brain. God can’t be limited by labels like Christian. The Bible describes more than one god. Which one is the Christian god?

"Thus saith the LORD". Gee that was easy.

That isn’t the Bible saying that the Bible is god’s word. That is a human being claiming to quote god in a Bible writing. That doesn’t mean the Bible is all gods word at all.

No, 'Thus saith the LORD' means God is saying it.

It doesn’t mean the Bible is the word of god. It means someone wrote something in the Bible purporting to quote god. There were quite a few who pretended that god talked to them or that they spoke for god. But no god ever wrote one word of the Bible.
