I cannot speak for Democrats, but it is pretty obvious why more and more Americans are "turning against Israel".

There are two obvious points:

Benjamin Netanyahu's policies. The people in Gaza are starving to death due to the blockade. Images of children dying and starving, and reports of Israel bombing innocent civilians do not sit well with most Americans.

War fatigue. The war has been going on since 1948. That's one of the longest wars in world history. When people see both sides committing unthinkable acts and a continued rejection of changing geographic boundaries.

I think the shift more has to do with the children than anything else.
