You bet we would because McCain wouldn't have implemented the failed stimulus program that bailed out unions nor would he have implemented Obamacare. In addition you wouldn't find McCain dividing the nation like Obama has. McCain wasn't my choice at all but had a better resume than Obama and resumes matter, not rhetoric.

Without the stimulas our nation would have gone into a Depression. As a True COnservative of Integrity I actually think that recessions are neccessary ever so often. That may be poltically incorrect to say, but it is my honest belief that they have a very effective corrective quality about them that attacks bloated overspending, fraud, waste and abuse in our government. On the other hand I do not believe that full blown Depressions are good for our nation. That is why I believe that Obama's stimulas package was proper for our country. Not only did it save us from a Depression but it also put us on course for the current Recovery that we are enjoying. Some argue that the Recovery is too slow, but as I like to say, Economic Recoverys are like sex: its better to do it slow and get it right than to do it too fast and get it wrong.

How about some intellectual honesty for a change, the recession ended in June 2009 and the results posted are today. Facts don't escape me at all for I am the only one posting the non partisan facts. That's probably true. What always amuses me is "conservatives" who say the stimulus failed. They just said tax cuts failed. And they somehow think letting the economy go off the cliff actually leads to more jobs. The hard right has virtually no understanding of economics these days.

Well, additional spending or tax cuts cannot and have never fixed a financial recession. They only lessen the damage. Conservative (along honestly with many people here) here has no real grasp of any form of economics and that's why he cannot even begin to discuss why the recovery has been slow in a honest fashion. The stimulus was a failure in that many of its projects were one, two, three years out. You can't reasonably expect serious economic stimulus to occur when the spending is long term. What the stimulus did, and what many hacks are either too dishonest or too stupid to understand is that transfer payments to state kept huge numbers of teachers, firemen, police and other civil servants in their jobs. It's partially why men suffered disproportionate job losses early in the recession. Women were buffered by the stimulus. As the stimulus ended, their job losses increased. It's hilarious to watch the GOP bash Obama on this when those who understand realize that if the stimulus wasn't there, male and female job losses would have been astronomical at the same time. In many ways the stimulus bought families time. Going from two incomes to one is hard. Going from two to none is awful.

Anyone who thinks the recovery should have been fast has effectively no understanding of what a financial/liquidity recession is and really shouldn't even be considered to be worth talking to.

You are making the dubious point of focusing on the supposed extremist agenda of the Republicans when it is an incontrovertible fact that Obama's "big govt" nanny state is a total failure: having America with more people out of a job NOW than when Obama took office, 23 MILLION unemployed, people on food stamps almost doubled (tripled ?) and gas prices definitely doubled even though the Alaska Keynote Pipeline and other American gas and oil development have been and are rejected...... which would've created hundreds of thousands of jobs, and energy independence from our enemies. Especially contemptible is the Obama agenda of resorting to such outrageous LIES accusing Romney of being a murderer, and felon, demonizing Romney's eminently successful BAIN Corporation (acknowledged by Clinton and other top Dem personas as being a "sterling enterprise".

America is supposedly a center right country with only ~20% committed ultra liberals. However, it is going to be difficult for anyone to win a Presidential Election against Obama who even though he is a blatant Monumental Mendacious Fraud, he has the overwhelming advantage of having locked up the Black Racist vote, and bought off (1) the Latino vote, (2) The powerful unions. And, flagrantly pandering to young women, and college types by telling them, basically, that he is willing to bribe them with everything they want.

The latest vote grabbing exploit of Obama by catering to the Muslim vote (USA population ~ 8 million) is most troubling of all. The Obama Agenda is not only supporting the Muslim Terrorist Front Organization of CAIR, by having their representatives in high positions in Homeland Security, and lecturing our various government agencies, and the Military....... but dropping this thinly veiled Muslim Terrorist Front created by TWO of the Hamas leaders: Omar Ahmad, and Nihad Awad (google: acknowledged as such by the FBI) ....have now arrogantly accepted blatant Al Queda and Hamas imams and other flagrantly outspoken anti-American imams as major Dem Party keynote speakers at different rallies with some consternation by the DNC chairman Debbie Wasserman Shultz who is a jew.

In just a few days, the Democratic National Convention “kick off events” week will include its first ever “Jumah (Arabic for gathering) at the DNC” – three Islamic-centered events beginning with a Friday afternoon prayer and sermon, an evening Islamic banquet and an all-day Islamic festival.

Many of the individuals scheduled to speak during the DNC week have extremely spurious backgrounds, including, astonishingly, support for Al Qaeda and for the U.S. State Department-designated terrorist organization, Hamas.

Siddig Ali told an FBI informant that “he ha[d] connections that [would] allow him to drive a car carrying a bomb into a parking lot in the United Nations building.” [xxxiv] He also conspired to carry out attacks in Israel and expressed racist views, calling Jews “sons of monkeys and pigs.” He avowed, “The sword is to be absolutely used and implemented. This is as a principle.” [xxxv]

Well, if you vote for Romney this November then most likely you will be having that same feeling come January 2013.

But that is not why you should NOT vote for Romney in November. The reason you should not vote for Mitt Romney is because he is not a Conservative. The reason you should not vote for him is because of his stance on abortion, on gun control, on health care, on gay marriage, on religion. But these are all wedge issues, you say. Sure, Romney's policies on these issues have been in line with the liberal agenda, but the big issue this year is the economy, you say.
Ok, fair enough. So why exactly do you think Romney would be good for economy??? Because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has never worked one minute of manual labor in his enitre life? Because he has NO IOTA of what us working folk have to do every day? Because he has an army of nannys, maids, chauffers and assistants to clean up after him and wipe his crack every day? Or maybe it is because he wants to INCREASE government spending even MORE than what we currently have.

Look, unless you are a millionaire who was born with a silver spoon in your mouth, Romney does NOT represent you and you would be a FOOL to vote for him. It would be far better to cast your vote in a respectable manner - in a way that would let you sleep well at night and look yourself in the mirror each morning. It would be far better to vote for the person who actually reflects your vision and your values. Be that Gary Johnson or Ron Paul, or any other write-in candidate like Chris Christie or Jeb Bush or Mike Huckabee. Because if you vote for Romney, you are saying THIS is what the Republican party stands for: a flip-flopping political opportunist who hides the money he made in shiping jobs overseas and stealing our retirement funds in Swiss bank accounts and a maze of tax shelters. THAT is not what my Republican Party is about, my friends. THAT is not what our future should be. We need to vote our conscience on this one. Vote for a canidate that actually reflects our Republican-American values. That is the way to go. Or even sit this one out, for 2012 is not our year. It is not the year that we send a true representative of the Republican Party to the White House. 2016 will be that year. 2016 will see the strongest group of Republican contenders since 1976 or 1980. We must be patient. We must circle the wagons and tough this one out. We must NOT vote for a lesser of two evils or a canidate that is not a true Republican. And Mitt Romney is NOT a true Republican!

This is all nonsense. Romney isn't a faux conservative because his social views are slightly out of line with the Republican party's. It's because they're out of line with the basic standards of human conduct. The purpose of governance is to provide opportunities and protection for the people, no? What kind of politician, or political party, openly supports policies that would be detrimental to specific minorities? Romney is out of line, but not in the way you think.
