Why building codes should be abolished

Are mandated sprinkler systems the right call? Yes or no.

Who are unelected, which egregiously violates the democratic principles people like you claim to support.

I'm just wondering why an engineer is needed to determine the proper height of a door.

The various building codes are written by unelected ‘experts’, but they are adopted and/or amended by elected officials.

No, it's a consequence of your argument.
No it isn’t. Your conclusion does not follow, which is why I pointed out it’s a non sequitur.

Okay. I'm on board with building codes.

Every new construction single family residence should be required to include a built in gun safe. Older homes can be brought up to code at time of sale.

It follows directly from your argument.

I'm afraid repetitive contradiction doesn't suffice for an argument.
Your claim is not true, and you can’t demonstrate it to be true. So all I need to do is point this out.

It isn't my claim. It's an logical consequence of your argument, unless you are engaging in some sort of special pleading.

A government that can do whatever it likes as long as it isn't something specifically prohibited in the Constitution, can ban holsters and force concealed carriers into Mexican carry.

But have no fear. It can also mandate a built in gun safe in the construction of every new home, and mandate retrofit for older homes as they go on the market.

Prove it.

But can’t mandate you keep your guns in it. The Supreme Court has already pointed that out.

You can keep your Christmas stockings in it for all I care.

Smh. I'm not a councilman, and if I were, I'd make an informed decision. I'm not interested in playing one on the internet.

If sprinklers save lives and property, then whoever gets the sprinklers wins. Whether mandated or optional.

There's a whole world out there beyond sprinklers.

People like me? 🥰

You're a hoot.

Sprinklers are chicken feed. These guys are behemoths.

Millions of square feet. 650 MW. Powered 100% by renewables. Real shit.

Musk is just up the street. He's adding millions of square feet to the five million already there. Real stuff. Behemoths.

Some may question whether it is appropriate to use sprinklers. In August 2018, a Tesla Gigafactory in Nevada suffered limited damage when a fire broke out in the production area late in the evening. The installed sprinklers suppressed the fire which was finally extinguished by the fire service. The facility returned to production the next morning,1 demonstrating the effectiveness of sprinkler systems as the perfect tool for physical resilience and business continuity.

Real sprinklers. Behemoths. 😁

☝️☝️☝️ 4 million sq. ft. How many sprinklers?

Anyway, I guess my proposed revision to building codes- gun safe requirement for all new construction, retroactively enforced for homes on the market- isn't finding much favor so far.

Different codes apply to commercial buildings.

Do you drive a Dodge?

Because the constitution precludes such a requirement. You can’t demonstrate require the safes I suppose, but you can’t require guns be stored in them.

Does the Constitution preclude a requirement for mandated gun safes in a home? I believe it can be easily accomplished through building codes.

No

Irrelevant. Guns can’t be required to be stored in them.

It's entirely relevant to building codes. I don't care if you store your ample supply of red herring in it.

Sages can be mandated per building codes. Stoeinf firearms in them can’t be.

I assume you mean "safes".

Yes, that's my point.

Wow.. As I mentioned earlier in thread about me doing a commercial job under a larger local company's license, the inspector just showed a few ago.

Place is 3 floors with basement and every bit of 10k sq ft, if not a chunk more and shit still to do.

Walked in to one room on first floor, asked for drawings, went upstairs. Shone flashlight in one metal box to make sure it was grounded. Looked at approved plans for about 10 seconds and said here you go, have a good one.
Not a **** was given.

The work ethic of public employees is amazing. ;)
