I think Amy Schumer is pretty hilarious. Sarah Silverman has her moments.
Women comics are only less funny than men to people who have strong psychological problems with women.
The majority of people would disagree.
Put a list of top 100 comedians, how many females make that list?

Even though I am not a big fan of Stephen Colbert, he actually is funny. I can actually watch his show.
However I tried watching an episode of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and it was very bad, the complete opposite of funny. I get a similar reaction when watching other female comedians like Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman.
Now, this thread may get some slack. I am not saying ALL female comedians are unfunny, but IMO the majority of them are. IMO female comedians can only be really good in a narrow range of categories. When I see a female being really nasty, that is just a turn off. It just doesn't work.
What are your thoughts?
Good question. On one hand, I think it appeals to men more than women (even at a young age, the "class clown" tends to be a boy). On the other, I think that even for women who do enjoy being humorous, it tends to get socialized out of them.
Both sexes are likely to seek a partner with a "good sense if humor" but women tend to think of that as a guy who is funny, and men tend to think if that as a gal who will laugh at his jokes.

Funny is relative, anyway.
Some females are funny. Some not so much. Same with teh menz.Even though I am not a big fan of Stephen Colbert, he actually is funny. I can actually watch his show.

For women finding a man that is funny (except for George Stepanapolis wife) seems to be a deal breaker where as for men it is not.
Men in general take more risks and in comedy you need to take more risks.
I don't think Samantha Bee is particularly funny either, don't rate all women on that. Comedy is a hard, brutal sport, it's not surprising women traditionally have not been welcomed into it, or would even want to step into it...the nightclubs, the heckling, it's a trial by fire. And yet, there are plenty of comedic women actors who are funny.Even though I am not a big fan of Stephen Colbert, he actually is funny. I can actually watch his show.

Yeah. Who populated the list? A bunch of rich white guys sitting around trying to decide who is funny and who isn't.

OK BUCKY!.....Coming through with the Quality!
What ever the reason is it is closely related to why women tend to fail in Corporate America......maybe that they are too focused on being small bore pleasers to be excellent.
I dont have an answer, not really, but this has been on my mind for years.
GOOD LUCK!

Some of it may be gender, but it's hard to worry about that today, when we're just now creeping out of a male dominated society, there will be pockets of resistance that are slow to change, for a variety of reasons. Be careful of being too Bucky/Tigger/Misogynist, it's a primitive response/emotion that isn't all that helpful to society.
