Not that this is news, the AQ Saddam connections are well established fact, and have been for many years, but for some reason the lie that there were no ties has somehow permeated the consciousness of the American populace.

:lamo it's sad how the right keeps trying so desperately to revive this long debunked myth.
couple points
1) weekly standard? really?
2) few soldiers say this yet all the other hard evidence says otherwise - you sure they weren't coerced?
3) coercion forces out many things.

So why is it that we are expected to believe the terrorists that dismiss the collaborative relationship and discount those that acknowledge it? The intelligence clearly shows an ongoing and collaborative relationship between AQ and Iraq, facts are stubborn things.

That's not what the Iraq study group said. That's not what the 911 Commission said. Finally, that's not even what President Bush said. Are you calling the president a liar? Looks like we finally agree on something.

That's not what the Iraq study group said.

Well they're wrong as is proved conlusively by the captured Iraqi documents:

That's not what the 911 Commission said.

Let's see what the 9-11 Commission said:

It seems to me that their conclusion that there was no collaborative relationship doesn't agree with their findings in the report.

Finally, that's not even what President Bush said. Are you calling the president a liar? Looks like we finally agree on something.

What didn't the President say? He never said that Saddam was involved with 9-11 just as he has never said that Saddam wasn't involved with AQ.

Then there's the CIA:

The Weekly Standard is not a credible source regarding the Iraq war. Editor Bill Kristol was a founder of PNAC and architect of the war.

Umm nice ad-hom, care to debate the captured Iraqi documents that proves the AQ Saddam relationship? No? Thought not.

What sources other than Weekly Standard are reporting this story?

How do you know Thomas Joscelyn's "facts" are right and the Pentagon report is wrong?

Because the captured Iraqi documents prove that the Pentagon is wrong, if they're saying the documents prove the contacts to be limited when in actuality they show that Zawahiri met directly with Saddam, and OBL met directly with Iraqi security operatives then how could the contact have been limited as they claim? How if the head of the CIA was saying that the contacts were substantial could there have been an intelligence community consensus that said contacts were limited? This sh!t just don't jive with the facts.

Jeez, the statements of George "its a slam dunk Iraq has WMDs" Tenant make it an "established fact"?

Given Tenat's record, if he made the assertion, that is a good reason to seriously question its accuracy.

Ya un hunh, now let's debate the captured Iraqi documents that prove that Ashcroft was 100% correct.

The left believes if they keep saying something over and over again that the American public will take it as gospel....Its the same thing about Saddam being connected to 9/11........I know of no one on the right with any intelligence who has said that but the left keeps saying it over and over again and uninformed people in this country start to believe it.............sad........

Just say it three times and it's true. :rofl

How many times have I used that line?

That's what the libs used to say when we were fed all that propaganda from the right a few years back during the push for war.

It's so funny how things flip and flop here in America. Like a pendulum.

OMG.....this post is beyond words. Navy....you more than anyone (except for your inspired world leader GWB) believe that repeating the same talking points over and over might connect with someone.....somehow....as they say....even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.

And as for the second part of your post......your inspired world leader himself said the hardest thing about being president is connecting 9/11 with Iraq. Cheney on numerous ocassions as well as Rice and Bush himself has made comparisons. Its amazing that you would make such a claim in this technological age where people have access to information 24/7.

P.S....the really funny thing about this post is that TOT was saying that the link has been proven....and Navy saying, no one has ever tried to insinuate that connection.

I am reminded of that time when British Intelligence put a dead German soldier in a British military uniform and planted fake documents on him and let his body wash up on a German Beach with the intent of misdirection. That was ingenious.

Not saying it has anything to do with these "Captured Iraqi Documents," or anything like that. I am just pointing out that stranger things have happened. Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.

I've been thinking the same thing. This is hilarious.

Cons are funny. Funny cons.

There's about 50 documents there. Which are the ones referred to in the articles you cited which you assert are facts?

Or I'd be interested in any that show that the Hussein Iraq-Al Queda "connections are well established fact," the "ongoing and collaborative relationship between AQ and Iraq," or "documents prove that the Pentagon is wrong," or that "prove that Ashcroft was 100% correct."

Leaked reports is the best I can do:

That's from the Feith memo and is a dissemination of captured Iraqi documents.
