Slow moving bulldozer...
Seriously?:doh
Because people are still responsible for their actions and if the driver saw her and killed her, he intentionally killed someone. Whether it was a "justified" or "innocent" action is debatable, but whether he is responsible for his actions is not. I know I wouldn't run some unarmed woman over. And here's why I don't get the controversy, doesn't that organization admit to deliberately putting people in harms way? I mean, that's the point of a human shield. So, if Corrie put herself in front of a bulldozer on purpose, how is her death anybody else's fault but her own?
She had to appreciate the risk of getting in front of a moving dozer, even if she didn't believe it wouldn't actually hurt her.
The fact that is was slow moving would suggest to me that she would have had the time to get out of its way.
I'm really not seeing a whole lot of negative publicity, granted this happened 8 years ago. In fact there was even this cartoon published in a school newspaper.
Which suggests to me, that, by and large, the general consensus (with some significant disagreement, of course) seems to be she caused her own death.
I agree with your last sentence.
my god.
that is revolting.
there are plenty of disgusting cartoons relating to the Israel/Palestinian conflict but i don't ever see the need to post crap like that here or anywhere else for that matter.
disgusting.

i don't care where you got it from.I got that from an Aljazeera website. My point in posting it is that the editors seemed confident enough that it reflected popular opinion to publish it. I've also seen several comments on this (since everything has a place for comments now), and there are a bunch of jokes about this (let's just say IHOP came up a lot). It just doesn't seem the the publicity is (or was) all that harmful to the IDF.

The bulldozers are armored to protect the driver and others in the cab from enemy fire, so the driver has only a narrow slit of a few inches to see what is in front of him. By all accounts, Corrie only managed to keep her balance for a second or two before falling under the bulldozer. There is no way to know if the driver saw her in that second or two or not, or if he did see her if he believed she had jumped out of the way instead of falling under the bulldozer.
How do you know that they were innocent? did the IDF lie when they said the house was being used for smuggling? If so, how do you know? Did she die while functioning as a human shield for Hamas? Did one of her friends, who was there when she died, say that it might've been an accident? She was a human rights activist from America that was ran over by a bulldozer trying to stop an Israeli bulldozer destroying a innocent Palestinians home or well for the sake of collective punishment.
And it is not an Israeli armored bulldozer. Check this link for photos of armored bulldozers that have been used by the IDF.

Well that was the bulldozer she was ran over by...
The picture was taken moments before she was hit.
"Rachel Corrie died trying to save the home of Dr. Samir Nasrallah, who had engaged in no hostile activities and had been charged with no offence. His house was demolished because, like 600 others that have been bulldozed in Rafah, it lay within Israel’s planned “security strip.” Nasrallah was offered no compensation or alternative housing and had no right of appeal to a court."
Is there a reason you didn't want to share your source with us?
Sounds like something you just made up in fantasy land.It does not correspond to any armored bulldozer the IDF has used, so obviously the picture was staged.
No wonder you didn't want to tell us where your "information" came from.

Your right. They knew that Rachel Corrie was gonna die so they said "hey Rachel go stand there real quick i just had a flash in my head that says your gonna die! Stand right there so we make you look like the good innocent girl you are!".
Cuz to me it looks like the Bulldozer based on the Wiki link you shared looks like the IDF CAT D9N, or the IDF D9R.
It would help if you had a source that people have heard of. Believing them isn't much different from believing you.Is there a problem?
Sense it came from a socialist news website does that it mean all the info was made up?

By 2003, Israeli armored bulldozers in use in combat areas in Gaza all had slats around the cabin to protect against rpg's. Your photo is obviously of an earlier model. As for the rest of your post, Corrie didn't stand there. She lost her balance after a second or two and fell. The argument that she was deliberately killed by the driver rests on the assumption that in that second or two the driver saw her head bobbing above the top of the blade before she fell out of sight and that he somehow knew she had fallen under the bulldozer instead of having jumped to safety.
