Israel either wants to live in peace or they want the Palestinians gone somewhere else, but not really eliminated from the face of the Earth, which is what most Palestinians want to happen to Israel
False.
I did use and/or. Besides, the Palestinians largely supported Hamas, at least until recently.
There hasn’t been an election in Gaza - or Palestine - nationally since 2006.

In which, Hamas received 44% of the vote.

Indirectly, Israel themselves have supported Hamas by allowing our now-best buddy with NATO equivalent promises thanks To Trump - and friend Qatar, to funnel funding to Hamas in the “least worst option” mindset that Hamas is better than some other radical Islamic fundamentalist groups. And that sort of shit has been going on for decades. The US also.

These radical groups didn’t just appear from nowhere and the history of the region is way more complicated than simplistic “Palestinians supported Hamas”
The Palestinians largely supported Hamas. That's just a fact. They are linked, even if you want to deny it.
Palestinians last choice was between Hamas and Fatah.

You act as though these people have had any real choices 😂

There is no Palestine. There never was a Palestine. The land on which the Arabs and nomads were squatting on never belonged to them. It was always part of the Ottoman Empire. That’s a historical fact.
What empire controlled the land is of little consequence to the ethnic and tribal demographics within those territories and the identity of the people there.

It’s the equivalent of saying there are no Indians because India was under the British empire for so long.

Israel desperately trying to pretend Palestinians don’t exist so they can “justify” ongoing land theft doesn’t change the facts.

I do not equate Hamas and all Palestinians, just as I do not equate Likud with all Israelis.

As a citizen of the U.S., I certainly do not want to thought of as a supporter of DJT nor MAGA.

Reading some of the other comments here and you will understand why it ****ing took us 200 years to get rid of slavery and another 100 years to get rid of Jim Crow.

Even when faced with the sheer evil of genocide on your phone screens, some of you want to equivocate and both-sides genocidal, colonizer oppression.

Which really shouldn't shock me as much as it does, cause America is itself a white supremacist society that constantly has to tell itself that its genocidal, slaveownimg heroes were actually the good guys.

Excellent comment. Not many things show the underbelly of evil like some people's support for Israel's cruel treatment of Palestine.

I linked Hamas and the Palestinians together
All blacks are Antifa.
All illegals are rapists.
All Haitians eat cats and dogs.
All Jews are part of the Globalist movement.
All Drag Queens groom kids.
All gay people suffer from mental illness.
All women cackle. Especially black ones.
All Canadians love eating poutine.

I am running out of ideas, got any more tropes you want to present us??

Idiotic poll conflates the innocent people of Palestine with the horrible people of Hamas. Automatic disqualifier.
You don't get it. Our friend the OP took a head count in Gaza and can confirm that..............
The Palestinians largely supported Hamas. That's just a fact.
Or he heard it on Fox News.

Do I get breeding rights?

The fact is that the people who were squatting on someone else’s land did not own it. They had no government, no leader, no foreign ambassadors…nothing that is associated with a country. They were a “nation” but not a country. A nation is different from a country. A nation is simply a group of people of common descent with a common history, culture, and language. And even that is a stretch because a variety of groups were squatting there-Arabs, nomads etc.
Here is how a country is defined according to the Oxford dictionary:
“a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory.”
What kind of government did the Palestinian squatters have? A: none. None of the characteristics we think of as what constitutes a country.
The fact is that there never was a country called Palestine. Hopefully there will be soon.

How many lands are only "owned" because people have been living there for awhile?

Edit: All of them?
None of them. No one actually ever *owns* land. Land ownership is always transitory. When I say there never was a Palestine I mean there never was a COUNTRY called Palestine.

There was never a country called India either. Until after British colonialism. 🤷‍♀️

What a silly comment devoid of fact.
Just because you SAY it’s not a fact changes nothing. There were “Palestinian territories” which is a description of the land on which the Palestinians were squatting.
I suggest you do some reading and learn some history of the region.

This is a ridiculous argument.

We aren’t discussing India, are we.
Seems you don’t want to discuss history at all now that your entire “but Palestine wasn’t a COUNTRY” argument falls apart when faced with history.

There was no Iraq either, by the way. Nor Iran.

Many countries that exist today - and their geographic boundaries - came to exist after the fall of empires at the end of WW1.

Palestine and Israel included.

Some of the biggest problems IN the Middle East have to do with how the Ottoman territory was divided up by Western influences after WW1.

Including the creation of Israel on land that was territorial and historically OTHER TRIBAL LAND.

Try to pay attention to. We are discussing the fact that there never was a country called Palestine. I won’t be discussing other countries or nations.

Both. But Israel is actually doing it.

This is incorrect. Israel is not committing a genocide, which is why those who accuse Israel of doing so reliably have to change their definitions of "Genocide" to something like "Urban Combat".

In the meantime:

Israel has the capability to commit genocide if it wanted to, but not the intent.
HAMAS has the intent to commit genocide, but not the capability.
Roughly, conflict will continue until one of those dynamics shifts.

Most of the world recognizes the State of Palestine.
And hopefully every country will recognize it. But as yet there are no defined borders nor acceptable government. Once those details are worked out there will be a Palestine that is universally recognized.

There was never a geographic country called Israel either.

There were tribal states and confederations just like Palestinians and other Persians had tribal states and confederations prior to the rise of the Ottoman Empire - (and the rise of the Ottoman Empire is an entirely OTHER STORY) but until the Mandate for Palestine - at the end of WW1: NEITHER Israel NOR Palestine ever officially existed as countries.

They were MADE.

That’s the history.

Let me bring you back on topic here: it is a fact that there never was a country called Palestine. There still isn’t.
I don’t debate facts.
