Trump did do a good job. More specifically, the administration accomplished important things and worked smoothly. Here is a partial list of accomplishments. Some, like withdrawing from climate change agreements, are omitted as too controversial or as purely symbolic. Others are subject to partisan bias, like border security. However you parse it, it's an impressive list.
  • Appointed more federal judges than any two Presidents
  • Record low unemployment
  • Tax reform
  • Tax cuts
  • Military readiness
  • Reduced regulation
  • Trade agreements
  • Educational choice in K-12
  • Improved relations with both Saudi Arabia and Israel
  • Border wall and greatly improved border control
  • Religious freedom
  • Oil pipelines and increased domestic production
  • Defeated ISIS and boxed in Iran
  • Stood up to Russia and China
  • COVID vaccine
  • Reformed Veteran Affairs
  • FIRST STEP
  • Reduced drug prices
  • Marijuana legal in over 50% of states

One note on COVID because many try to blame Trump for the pandemic. The Trump administration did a good job but was not in charge. Governors of each state had that responsibility. Trump does get credit for the vaccine, because of the procedures and regulations that were streamlined.

You need to put down the crack pipe.

Stood up to Russia? You mean accepted their help in 2016, and then denied it?
Border wall? All 12 feet of that "great big beautiful" escarpment?
And perhaps most importantly, he ushered in the most divisive administration since perhaps the civil war.

Bottom line, you can't love Trump and love America.

Apparently, Buchanan’s encouragement of the Supreme Court’s decision upholding slavery in the Dred Scott case, endorsement of fraudulent election results in the Kansas territory to support its admittance to the Union as a slave state, and failure to respond to states seceding from the Union were viewed as more egregiously incompetent than Mr. Trump’s being the only president to stand in the way of the peaceful transfer of power and mishandling a pandemic that led to more than 600,000 deaths in the United States so far..."

Trump on Covid-19: “I take full responsibility. It's not my fault.”

Oct 22, 2020 — At the presidential debate, Trump almost took responsibility for Covid-19. Then he didn't.

Trump did do a good job. More specifically, the administration accomplished important things and worked smoothly.
Trump is a loser. On his watch, the Republican Party lost the House, Senate, and the Presidency within two years time. He lost his reelection by seven million votes.

For the past year Trump has been living a lie, and he has been forcing the Republican leadership to accept that lie. They do so because grassroots Republicans consider Trump their hero.

By attacking America's free elections, Trump has the full support of Vladimir Putin, the Russian dictator who helped Trump become President in 2016.

The Republican Party gets its support from the rural counties of America. For the most part they are farmers, ranchers and rural shopkeepers with limited education. Their awareness of political matters is highly limited. All they know is, Trump is their savior without ever knowing what Trump is doing and saying. This thread illustrates that fact.

Now this. Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee for President in 2024. He is the leader of the Republican Party. Please, don't ask me why. Last week, Trump issued this statement via his Save America PAC:

"If we don't solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in '22 or '24. It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do."

Spoilage is an indicator. There are issues if the number is too high and different issues if it is too low. In this election, spoilage was extremely low. It's one of those fact things that are so stubborn.

I know you write fiction, but this is fantasy.

here are the facts. There were contacts between Trump and Russian business interests, that were investigated and found to be innocuous. The lower level was going to close things down but the decision was overruled by the executive level. it was after this point that the Steele dossier appeared and the collusion narrative took form. The case agent's notes and FBI internal memoranda would normally be classified information, but they were released in 2019.

Trumps business interests with Russia have never been fully investigated.

His campaign members met with Rusdians many times. Trump lied and said they never did. Witnesses at the Mueller investigation refused to testify, under Trump's instructions.

Seems shaky.

Trump is a loser.
So you keep saying, despite the evidence to the contrary.

On his watch, the Republican Party lost the House, Senate, and the Presidency within two years time. He lost his reelection by seven million votes.
no one said he was perfect, just effective.

I have not paid much attention, nor do I care very much. What he did while in office was quality work. I do care about that.

By attacking America's free elections,
Trump did no such thing.

Trump has the full support of Vladimir Putin, the Russian dictator who helped Trump become President in 2016.
The Conspiracy Theory forum is down the main page. Russia collusion has thoroughly debunked and criminal indictments are pending.

The Republican Party gets its support from the rural counties of America.
Trump won over 85% of all counties.

For the most part they are farmers, ranchers and rural shopkeepers with limited education.
In some places. Not so much in the suburbs and cities.

Their awareness of political matters is highly limited.
Your argument works against you. Trump had a broad cross-section. Biden had only inner-city and California.

All they know is, Trump is their savior without ever knowing what Trump is doing and saying. This thread illustrates that fact.
It rarely helps to insert yourself in the mind of someone you do not understand.

Now this. Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee for President in 2024.
Meh. I remember when the presumptive nominee was Newt Gingrich.

He is the leader of the Republican Party.
Not really. Republican voters adopted him, but they are the ones making things happen, not Trump. At most, the party will follow his lead.

🥱

Trump is living rent-free in your head. Why let him?

I think there is a 50 percent chance you've been distracted from following the money.

Trump has busloads of vermin like this still vigorously supporting him and his insurrection party.
This is how this POS's website describes him. He owns 85 percent of the organization he founded, he pays almost no taxes,
vs his wealth, and he says and spends whatever it takes to keep it that way.

Valid point about Carter. He had to fill over 150 newly created positions. Excluding those, the point stands.

Federal drug law can be taken to overrule state marijuana laws. In spite of some harsh rhetoric against hemp, the Trump administration has stood aside and let things unfold as they will. It may be something like giving Obama credit for the growth in fracking, but it's appropriate in both cases.

Why do you doubt we have closer ties with Saudi Arabia due to Trump administration policies? Trump administration policy resulted in the Abrahamic Accords, which are the first of their kind.

The Abrahamic accords are symbolic with zero real meaning. I lived in Saudi Arabia and we already had relations with them, but how about the asinine blockade on Qatar? We backed Saudi Arabia screw with Qatar as we have a massive air base there. Kushner hung out with MBS and was played like a fiddle. Reality is hard for you to accept.

I've been trying to figure out that anomaly. A 10 point drop across the board, yet the democrats still hold the edge in the generic congressional ballot. You just might have. That is totally out of whack with historical norms. Now historical norms, wisdom and tradition have been thrown out the window when it comes to Trump.

We know independents don't like Trump much. They never have. Trump has been in the limelight lately, a reminder to one and all why they dislike him which is rubbing off on the GOP. Vaccines maybe, but I doubt if that has much to do with the anomaly. Well, Trump cost the GOP the 2 Georgia senate seats, he might as well cost them the control of the house next year. If the Republicans are stupid enough to stick with Trump knowing full well he drives independents to vote Democratic, that is their problem. One comes to the conclusion the Republicans are only interested in promoting Trump and not winning elections.
We just went though 2020, the worst year for political upheaval since 1968 in my opinion. Additionally we still have the pandemic which has killed over 700,000 people. Trump is busy keeping people aware of all these things, refusing to look forward. Republicans are still resisting masks and vaccines. They're becoming the party of conspiracy and COVID.

Mueller's investigation always was shaky. The empowering act was never properly documented, nor was the purported offense spelled out. Both are required by statute.

Provide a source showing that Trump's business arrangements with Russia have been investigated.

Since Trump encouraged witnesses to not cooperate we did not get all the facts.

The responsibility for the Mueller investigation fell with the Trump administration itself.

Correct. You and I are not privileged to have all the facts. No one person is.

I think, at least as far back as I can remember this is the first time a political party has stuck with a candidate that lost a presidential election instead of moving on. Moving on to a fresh face, new ideas, coming up with solutions to our problems and fomenting a vision for the future. But the GOP continues to live in the past. That may cost them big time. They've tied their political fortunes to a man, not to ideals or a political philosophy, but to a man who's in it only for himself and to sooth a huge bruised ego. My take anyway.

I'd say the GOP is now the RINO party without any traditional Republican ideals. This is what Trump has made it into.

"...Nevertheless, the situation was partially relieved later that year by the intervention of Nevins’ “silent partner,” Eisenhower’s friend W. Alton Jones. Jones, the president of The Cities Service Oil Company, was especially interested in maintaining the Eisenhowers’ privacy. He initiated the purchase of adjacent properties to accomplish this goal. Given his responsibilities and workload at Cities Service, it was not practical for Jones to handle the details of farm purchases or farm operations after their acquisition. There was also the appearance of impropriety that might have occurred if it appeared a “wealthy benefactor” was buying land for Eisenhower. So Jones acquired the services of Nevins to act as his agent and “front man,” allowing him to handle the details of all Jones’ property purchases in the Gettysburg area that could possibly be associated with Eisenhower or the Eisenhower Farm.7.."
