The Tea Party was well funded, huge buses. stages, sound systems, bus trip across the country.... Does any of this exist for OWS?Stop me where I'm wrong. It reads to me that they fund a conservative organization that supports the goals of the Tea Party. That's entirely different than bankrolling or being behind the movement.
We see with the Wall Street thing unions joining in. Are we saying that unions bankrolled this and are behind it?

The Tea Party was people showing up at town hall meetings and getting pissed at their representatives. They decided to hold a rally and some like minded individuals decided to help with the funding. I'm not sure where the problem comes in here.
Do you really believe that there is absolutely no outside funding with the Wall Street protests?
Are you going to condemn the Wall Street protests if we find out certain unions spent money on it?

I viewed the Tea Party when it started off as a legitimate movement that was a culmination of people who were pissed at the economic situation and the bailouts and whatnot and it's roots were libertarian in low tax small government appeal. When it shifted to Fox news staging the protest locations and telling people to show up and when to cheer and whatnot followed by the very very non-libertarian Dick Armey being the chairman of Freedomworks and Koch brothers funding American's for Prosperity and that following the fact that the "tea party express" was outted as merely a GOP pac committee... kind of killed it as legitimate grass roots IMO.
People who were legitimately conservative and legitimately pissed were now getting pamphleted instructions on what to do when they crashed town-halls to disrupt them rather than present grievances and it was nothing but noise with no direction. Just disruption for the sake of getting on camera dissing a dem and posting it on youtube for Fox to pick up and act like individuals were getting up and acting on their own volition which, as we know now, they clearly weren't. At that point the movement was legitimate only in it's stupidity awaiting their next instructions from Glenn Beck who had those people so twisted in their heads that they were screaming fiscal conservatism while getting even more pissed by GOP heads shoving out more divisive social conservatism.
So what started out as a libertarian fiscal conservative movement ended up turning into a GOP pac fund-raising org that had only one purpose in mind and that was to divide the country as much as possible.
And as I asked another earlier (with no reply yet) you'll feel the same about the Wall Street thing if you find union or perhaps Soros money going into it?
If I feel deceived by how they twist the message and intent... **** yeah I would.
That's not really what I asked.
You want to know my answer to a false comparitive that you are trying to narrate.
I'm not biting. Like I said, if they get involved, no biggie to me. If they get involved and deceive the movement by pretending to be independent while being nothing new but old hat money raising scheme for dems, I'll be pissed.
I have to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying the Tea Party supporters getting people to show how 'astroturf' that movement is. :lamo
The OWS movement is still growing and is springing up in more cities every day. Seems conservatives calling the protesters names, trying to make up sinister motives for the movement, trying to associate it with socialism, communism people-wanting-a-free-ride isn't working.
Some of the older GOPs know what will happen if this thing goes on and gets more members - how do you think the civil rights act of 1964 got passed? How do you think all that social legislation got passed in the 1960s? How do you think enough pressure was put on politicians to end the Vietnam War? All of that happened because the people took it to the streets, got the un-networks-sanitized facts to the citizens and made it OK to say you opposed segregation, supported services for seniors, opposed Vietnam and supported more funding to education.
