Obama had better stop screwing around with Fox, and move on.By: Jonathan Allen

A White House effort to undermine conservative critics is generating a backlash on Capitol Hill — and not just from Republicans.
“It’s a mistake,” said Rep. Jason Altmire, a moderate Democrat from western Pennsylvania. “I think it’s beneath the White House to get into a tit for tat with news organizations.”
Altmire was talking about the Obama administration’s efforts to undercut Fox News. But he said his remarks applied just the same to White House efforts to marginalize the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a powerful business lobby targeted for its opposition to climate change legislation.
“There’s no reason to gratuitously piss off all those companies,” added another Democrat, Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia. “The Chamber isn’t an opponent.”
POLITICO reported earlier this week on an all-fronts push by the White House to cut the legs out from under its toughest critics, whether it’s the Chamber, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck and the rest of the Fox News operation.
White House Communications Director Anita Dunn has defended the push, saying the administration made “a fundamental decision that we needed to be more aggressive in both protecting our position and in delineating our differences with those who were attacking us.”
My bad for stopping the thread. It just seems that FoxNews can spread lies and give false impressions but cannot be called out. It is quite annoying.

As opposed to the other "news" outlets that don't ask any questions or say anything critical of Obama at all.
Just turn it on and wait 30 seconds.

Au contraire - it's no more a mistake than Olberman's "Worst Person in the World" segment is valid news. Try again.vauge said:Silly mistake right? Yet it happens all the time and you will excuse it. Of course you will. Simple dumb mistake.
Oh silly me. It should be called Fox and Friends morning discussion ignore anything we say it is our opinion. That's not a news show, that's a morning commentary show.
People assume a lot around here. I do not like MSNBC or CNN either. "Good Morning America" doesn't really comment, but when they do - it is more clear.Like MSNBC's "Morning Joe" or "Good Morning America".
I did. And like my genius mind prophesied - you ignored it.Pick out a lie from "FoxNews".
Editorializing the news.
A few years back Reuters, in a lead in to a news article about China called China's president a stone faced dictator. That is not news, it is an editorial opinion, yet we have a tendancy to accept it as news.
To me, news should be as factual as possible without opinion. We tend to get in as much milage out of controversial news item as possible which results in opinionated news.
Most news can be reported in a few paragraphs. But the tendancy, especially when it comes to hot items is to regurgitate the same facts (or missfacts) as possible to fill up the required space in order to call themselves a newspaper. This so called news then takes on a life of its own as the public clammers for more villians. That is not responsible news reporting, that is done for market share and advertising dollars.

"You'll be hard-pressed to find any news story which passes that test. "
That's all part of the dumbing down of America. From what I have been able to gather, most journalism classes now teach that editorializing in a news story is the right thing to do. My godson's journalism teacher argues that it is the responsibility of the reporter to bring people to their point of view when writing news stories. When I confronted this clown, she defended her position by stating that the average person does not have enough knowledge to make the decision so since the reporter has done the investigation, he is more able to tell the people what is important and how it should be interpreted.
Talk about juevos! Needless to say, I filed a formal complaint with the college and also needled to say, it went nowhere. After all, she has tenure.
I don't follow, is this a lie that they spread?Just turn it on and wait 30 seconds.
