Which radical leftist Obama policy drove you into the arms of Trump?

Maybe some people became disillusioned with the Obama Administration when it decided that public school students could no longer be suspended for defiance.

The activists convinced the Obama Administration that suspension was unfair because most of the suspended students were members of two certain ethnicities.

When people pointed out that those two ethnicities were the ones who were the most defiant, the Administration -- of course-- dismissed their explanation.

Cool theory, bro.

Cooler when you consider that the federal government...has, like, zero ****ing control over state and local schools.

Nobody told me.

It was in the news.

The Obama Administration was very proud of this action (carried out by that very nice gentleman who was the first Attorney General in the Obama Administration).

Here in Los Angeles, the (liberal) Board of Education was delighted. "See," it intimated, "your Board is being very successful in improving the behavior of our students. Almost no more suspensions for defiance." (There were ugly rumors that principals were trying to find other ways to suspend troublemakers.)
Those aren't citations.

Some totally-not-racist people say that they were left-wing in 2008, then Obama was elected which finally drove them into the right-wing around 2016. Because, you know, extremists took over the Democratic party. So if you're out there, which radical leftist Obama era policy drove you into the arms of Trump?
It's always "some liberal sjw made me a fascist" and not "rampant white supremacy drove me left."

Obama was barely left of Clinton, and deported and bombed brown people for kicks and to "look like a tough lib" and the righties think he was a soyboy socialist anyway.

****ing wonder why.

Yep. Also note that right-wingers can NEVER be far enough to the right, while anyone to the left of Joe Manchin -- including Joe Manchin himself at times -- is a crazy, radical marxist socialist. It's always too far to the left (e.g. Obama), never too far to the right. And when Democrats INVARIABLY put forth an ultra-moderate candidate (to appeal to the right-wing), it's Democrat who have been taken over by extremists and not coming to the center.

I was done treating these people with respect 4 years ago.

Keep shifting the Overton window to the right and people arguing for basic dignity and humanity are ****ing marxist extremists. It would be comical if it wasn't so disturbing how easily people are brainwashed. In a sane society the Squad would be centrist.

What are you talking about? Kids get suspended all the time - I'm even in a "blue" state. Geez, man.

Yeahhh i caught on to that sort of bullshittery.

By challenging the federal government the Republican Party is attacking our Constitution and along with it American democracy as a whole while embracing autocracy.

The Republican Party is expected to win control of Congress in November.

A Republican President lost reelection in November 2020 then led a coup attempt on Jan. 6, 2021, designed to overthrow the elected government.

147 Republican members of Congress voted to reject the Constitution mandated Electoral College results and the votes cast by the American people.

Republican state governments wish to control what is taught to our children, particularly when it comes to sex and race. They subjugate education professionals as in the case of teachers, principals, and superintendents.

The Republican Party wishes to control the health decisions made by women in consultation with their doctors. By doing so the Republican Party is in violation of the Supremacy Clause of our Constitution which "establishes that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties made under its authority, constitute the "supreme Law of the Land", and thus take priority over any conflicting state laws."

ABC reports, "The Oklahoma House gave final approval on Thursday to a Texas-style abortion ban that prohibits the procedure after about six weeks of pregnancy, before many women know they are pregnant. The bill approved by the GOP-led House on a 68-12 vote without discussion or debate now heads to Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who is expected to sign it within days."

This bill and others like it that have been passed by Republican state governments are in direct conflict with the Supreme Court. In essence, the Republican Party is directly challenging the sanctity of our federal government.

In Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey the Supreme Court has ruled on the right of abortion. The court ruled that the decision was to be made by the woman, not the state.

Despite leading an attempt to overthrow our elected government as President, Donald Trump today is the recognized leader of the Republican Party, and countless Republicans -- many already in government -- are seeking his endorsement. Trump is the leading Republican candidate for the Presidency in 2024.

That says it all for the Republican Party.

It is unlikely that forum Republicans will respond to the issues of this post. How do we know something is seriously wrong? The complete silence by Republicans on the issues although they are good at personal attacks on those who tell the truth.

Republicans do not talk about their party

For me, it was when Obama said “Those jobs are never coming back”.
I immediately thought, Screw you Barry, you sold out America hating SOB.

I’m not in the arms of anyone, other than the wife and certainly not in bed with either major party. Now I voted for McCain in 2008, for Johnson in 2012, against both Obama and Romney. In 2016 I once again voted for Johnson, against both Trump and Clinton. In 2020, Trump drove me to vote for Biden. I’m certainly not in Biden’s arms and no way pro-Democratic Party. 2020 was the first time I’ve voted Democratic in a presidential election since Jimmy Carter who I voted for twice. I won’t be voting Republican as long as Trump is the GOP head. It’ll either be third party or Democratic. Thanks to Trump.

Elon Musk is not a libertarian. He likes Yang, ffs.

Yeah, and Tulsi Gabbard is a progressive. :ROFLMAO:

Of course Elon Musk is right-wing. Do you think right-wing freaks would like Elon Musk if he was a moderate?

I don't even think its about politcs at this point.

It went from "Trump is going to save us" to "Elon is going to save us". These people are looking for anyone to fight their battles for them, which says a lot about their collective psychology.

I was always on the right.

"policy"

That's just the thing. Obama wasn't particularly an extremist, by merit of the fact that these people actually voted for him.

extremists took over the democrat party after that, and they've pushed policies like, oh....defund the police? remember that one?

Keep shifting the Overton window to the right and people arguing for basic dignity and humanity are ****ing marxist extremists.

Nobody would confuse a Marxist with respect "for basic dignity and humanity". Simply look at countries controlled by Marxists.

I like him and he is a moderate. Again, he likes Yang's idiotic idea of universal welfare.

Obama isn't a radial leftist.

He's maybe a left-of-center centrist.

At least in terms of the policies he had while President.

Now, I know there are plenty of people who think the whole democratic party has been sprinting to the left for decades, but they're wrong about that.
Inching, maybe. Crawling, resisting the whole way.

The globalist sell out dirtbag.

Elon Musk was basically broke in 2008. Seems like he did well under the Obama administration. Maybe he's lamenting how much money he could have suckered the government for had right-wingers been controlling government. I mean, the Republican party is pretty much a vehicle to rob the poor so that the rich can gorge at the trough of government.
