Poll incoming.
I read this article today:
Majority of Americans trust the media more than Trump: poll
And it gave me an idea for a poll. How do people here at DP view the trustworthiness of Trump and the MSM? Do you personally find Trump to be more trustworthy and honest than the MSM, or vice-versa? Do you think neither of them are trustworthy?
For me, I don't find either Trump or the MSM to be all that trustworthy. Trump has lied about so much, and doesn't really even seem to care whether the stuff that he's saying is factual or not. For a guy that racks on the MSM constantly for spreading 'fake news', he sure does say a whole bunch of crap that's just totally untrue. Now when it comes to the MSM, I don't think they lie as much as Trump does, but they do tend to have a whole lot of sensationalism in their reporting, to the point where I can't trust their reporting sometimes.
What's your thoughts?
Do you honestly find any pleasure in tearing down straw men? We've veered of course anyways. Do you believe that the POTUS should be considered less reliable than privately owned companies?
Trump on deportations: 'It's a military operation'President Donald Trump, meeting with business leaders at the White House on Thursday, described his administration's moves to deport undocumented immigrants as a "military operation," a label that runs counter to what his administration has previously said. "We're getting really bad dudes out of this country, and at a rate that nobody's ever seen before," Trump said Thursday. "And they're the bad ones. And it's a military operation."
Homeland Security Secretary Kelly: No use of US military to enforce immigrationSeeking to tamp down growing unease in Latin America, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly pledged Thursday that America won't enlist its military to enforce immigration laws and that there will be "no mass deportations."
Example from just today...
Trump on deportations: 'It's a military operation'
Walking back the Trump 'alternate truth'...
Homeland Security Secretary Kelly: No use of US military to enforce immigration
Literally everything Trump says has to be fact-checked. He's a serial liar.
Privately owned companies? More biased slant. You have to call them privately owned companies now, instead of what they are, media? The media should be honest, fair, and unbiased - unless they declare themselves as not. If they can't do that (which polls constantly show they can't) then they deserve to be called out as "fake news" just like the National Enquirer, because that is what they are. If they want to be taken seriously then they need to report the news honestly, fairly, and without bias, otherwise, they are no better than the National Enquirer.

I don't think the MSM is untrustworthy, they are just hopelessly biased. Their dishonesty is in the pretense that they are objective.
You are completely dodging the point of this entire thread. The POTUS has more of a responsibility to be credible than news media does. Why, because news media is privately owned, and so it is acceptable for them to play up to their audience and try to make money. They aren't broadcasting just for the fun of it. The POTUS is publicly owned and therefore has a responsibility to be credible. It isn't that hard to understand.
