The funniest thing is, if Nixon WAS President today instead of back in the 1968-1972 era, one of the first things he'd probably try to do is resurrect the plan he tried to cook up before on healthcare, a national plan patterned after the Kaiser system, only this time with Ted Kennedy gone, someone on the moderate Dem side would hopefully caution against standing on ceremony and "not invented here syndrome" and we might just pass it with bipartisan support.
