What's your opinion of people who willingly worked for Trump to later "turn on" him?

Tonight, Stephanie Grisham had a short speech disparaging Trump. Yet, she willingly chose to work for him when it was readily evident he was a complete asshole back in 2016 and before.

Do we congratulate these people for finally seeing the truth that others could obviously see from a much father distance? Do we thank them for telling us what many of us could already see?

I suppose it is interesting that so many former Trump WH employees will not endorse him, but what makes anyone think these people should be listened to?

I get it, but yet I don't buy it. Anyone who willingly worked for Trump sold their soul long ago.

I commend them for speaking out, especially with some of the violent rhetoric and events going through the political debate these days.

That said, King Weirdo has been a misogynistic, racist, ignorant buffoon for a long time now. It’s not a new phenomenon that recently reared its head. And these people suckled up to the teat knowing that (likely in search of personal fame or advancement) so I wouldnt say I “respect” them.

I would be very weary of them as how bright could they have been in the first place to have supported him through 2020?

They give me the same feeling religious nuts give me. Id never trust them with anything and id cross the street rather than encounter them.

They know who that man is behind the curtain. And they want nothing to do with him any more.

Working in a White House administration is a DREAM for so many people.

It’s good to see those with behind the scenes experience shedding light on how BAD it truly was.

I don’t blame them any more than I’d blame an employee at a company that comes out as a whistle blower.

You sometimes dont know how BAD shit is until you know first hand how BAD shit is.

In general, I would think "They saw the light". BUT in the case of Grisham, she must have had amnesia for the last 4 years, because this tidbits of a closer look into this horrible family JUST MIGHT have come in handy YEARS ago!?!?

I have no respect for people like Mike Pence and Michael Cohen. Mike Pence was right there with Trump until he tried to overturn the election and have his angry mob hang him. Michael Cohen knew he was doing dirty deeds for Trump while he was his "fixer", yet he did them anyway. He got caught and now he is a saint and Trump is awful.

Most of his sycophants who turned on him knew exactly what they were getting into. They were probably screwed more badly than they expected, but that's on them. I think most of us knew what a grifting asshole Trump was even before he was elected.

Well obviously trump has turned on many of his followers

Turnaround is fair play

I can't speak to their motives, but I prefer people that can admit their mistakes to those that keep doubling down on them. I just noted in another thread that every Republican that has doubled down on their support for Trump this year, rather than remaining neutral, or even speaking out against him, is permanently disqualified from my support. Trump is so obviously now such a destructive and immoral force that you can not be morally sound yourself and support him, regardless of your politics.

Well, I'm of the opinion that when you work for a man, you WORK for him. If you work for someone, you do not undermine them, you not stab them in the back.

If you recall, they practically had to install a revolving door in the West Wing during the Trump years. There were literally dozens of people who accepted positions in the WH who soon realized they had made a big mistake. Many just stepped down quietly. Others chose to bite their tongue and tough it out. Several, because of their high profile positions, left in very public ways. We're talking about several cabinet positions as well as WH advisers to the president, including national security, press secretaries, and chiefs of staff.

I've personally had to make the decision whether or not to keep working for someone, based on the boss's behaviors, beliefs or rhetoric. Sometimes I quit, sometimes a I toughed it out. Through it all, I have always strived to maintain my own integrity and principles.

Considering Trumps long history of scams and cons, how could anyone agree to work for him and not expect to get screwed?

Most of them were traitors because they stayed silent until it was no longer beneficial to keep sucking up to him.

There were a lot of people who got themselves hired either by influence from people or by their own lies. They were there under false pretenses. They did what they had to do and then, at the opportune time, they stabbed Trump in the back.

Grisham was one of them.

After they did what damage to Trump they were able to do, they then showed their true colors.

Rest assured, Trump learned his lesson and he won't be making the same mistake again.

Trump seems to be creating new rinos by the truckloads, while Harris seems to be creating new voters. Trumps strategy doesn’t seem to be commensurate with winning an election.

Good news is JD Vance can run for president in 2028, and by then the couch and cross dressing rumors will probably have faded.

Yep. Project 2025 was born out of this shit! ^^^

Project 2025 is irrelevant. Trump has had his lesson in mind long before anyone knew anything about it.

From his campaign website...

Drain the Swamp of Washington Corruption

President Donald J. Trump is committed to dismantling the deep state and restoring government by the People, just as he did during his administration. President Trump will conduct a top-to-bottom overhaul of the federal bureaucracies to clean out the rot and corruption of Washington D.C. President Trump will push for a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on members of Congress, a permanent ban on taxpayer funding of campaigns, a lifetime ban on lobbying by former members of Congress and cabinet members, and a ban on members of Congress trading stocks with insider information.

Project 2025 was born out the desire to prevent un-loyal basement dwellers from existing. Key word, "loyal"
Seems incredibly un-American. Basement dwellers may be nasty things but they’re still Americans😃😃
