What's with cops these days?

Well, unfortunately for you, and fortunately for the majority of sane and rational people...you are dead wrong. As usual.

You are on a blissful journey down the River DeNile. Enjoy it while you can....the Falls are a b*tch kitty.:2wave:

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article19389.htm

Crisscross the land of the free and the home of the brave to see those who serve and protect abuse the people they serve. Tour Taser Nation, a land where authorities routinely inflict electroshock torture on the People, pulling the trigger first, asking questions later, as always enjoying inflicting pain and suffering on both innocent and guilty. Students, suspects, the infirm, the handicapped, pregnant women, motorists, the elderly, those asking questions, those protecting their rights and yes, now even children, all can be electroshocked into submission in a legalized form of torture that seems to grow by the day.

Taser Nation has become Torture Nation, zapping one unsuspecting citizen at a time, conditioning the population towards the new normal of police brutality and state-sanctioned intimidation. Welcome to the Land of the Brownshirts, a place where respect for human rights and loving your neighbor as yourself is now frowned upon, a place where bullying, intimidation, harassment and a budding police state are the new normal.

Tell me, do the voices in your head ever try to reason with you?

Tell me, do the voices in your head ever try to reason with you?

Does the disgusting cowardly cop in the above video seem as if he would reason with you? He's giggling about beating up a helpless handcuffed woman. The two cowardly disgusting deputies were also giggling about stripping a woman naked. If one of these two were your wife or sister, would you feel so smug? I bet not. Maybe then you'll realize that police brutality is creeping out of the inner city. You think I'm mentally off? If you think Lindy England is sane, then I guess you're right. Do you admire Lindy? She was a US soldier just doing her duty, and thus a hero, right?

Do you always take extremes to make a point? LOL!

Just because a person thinks you are looney with your "logic" does not mean that they support your Satan. Get real. Oooops, perhaps that is the issue after all!

Do you know how many cities there are in this nation? Do you know how many police officers and sheriff's deputies there are? Do you know how many soldiers there are? Tell me, does the fact that doctor's get sued for malpractice everyday, all across the nation, that we should believe that by nature doctors are screw ups and we should fear them?

And when have I ever legitimized actual police brutality? Never.

I do think you are mentally off. Very much so.

Need help from the police?

Offer anecdotal evidence whilst trying to be cute and snarky.

Cheers

911 is a Joke. P.E. in full effect..

Personally, and this is just me, I hate cops - at least the ones in Southern California. Those one's are pure pieces of shit; lazy, incompetent, and quick to violence - especially the women cops, Christ I hate those bitches!

As a matter of fact, I got jumped in a Long Beach niteclub about a month or two back which resulted in a fractured cheekbone and multiple lacerations, I was also knocked unconscience, it sucked. The worst part, however, was when the cops waiting outside wrist locked my *** when I asked them to help me! And wouldn't you know it, it was a female officer.

Bloodied and swollen and battered I approached the officer and told her that I had been assaulted by multiple individuals and that I required medical assisstance and that she arrest the ******* who did it. She forcefully told me to, "keep moving", I, however, having faith that a police officer should serve and protect, insisted that she assisst me at which point she wrist locked me.

Long story short the cops were calling me a bitch and saying my face wasn't all that bad (it was really bad) and that I shouldn't press charges otherwise I'd spend the night in jail. Finally, the female officer told me she would cite me for fighting in public and release me, that way I could press charges in court - I acquiesed - bad idea.

Now, I'm being prosecuted. My initial arraignment was two weeks ago where, confused and bewildered, I was told to enter a plea. I told the judge I needed to consult with a lawyer first. My next arraignment is on Friday, where I will plead NOT GUILTY. Also, my two friends who got jumped as well were cited, but for some funny reason, were never chraged like me.

I hate those pieces of ****. And before anyone goes and whines about them protecting us and putting themselves in danger I was an infantry Marine in Iraq and when I was there I treated the Iraqis with more respect and dignity than these pigs ever did me or some of my friends.

Keep in mind this is simply a rant and as such does not merit a logical response of any kind.

Check out copwatch.com.

I always believe in trying to assist the cops by quoting various things I read on internet forums about the law. The internet is full of very intelligent people who are smart on law things and pretty much know more than most cops...hello, forum people use google, cops don't. Duh.

Way too many cops have the serious God Complex and think that badge gives them the right to play god and be asses!

Wow...... what a lame generalization.

My guess is you've probably been arrested or at least cited for some traffic charge at some point and your pissed off about it cause you didn't get "a break".

Here's another one shown widely on the MSM:

Taser Nation. What happened to police as civil servants rather than brute enforcers?

Note the cop was fired, note the pending civil action.

Gotta love you bigots who take the anecdotal and use it to disparage an entire group.

I'm white, and so cannot speak from a position of not being white, but think cops are great. I'm always polite to them, they're always polite to me, it works out. I call them officers and answer their questions directly. They don't taser me, or beat me, or harass me. They've given me breaks because I was polite.

They help me. They keep people from breaking into my house and murdering me. A bunch of bike cops helped me repair my bike wheel one time.

Has anyone here actually had a negative experience with the police?

I've had a few, but I'm not wholely willing to base my opinion of the hundreds of thousands of active cops.. on the actions of only a few dickheads.

In the grand scheme of things... for the most part they've all been pretty nice and civil to me as well. :)

In the middle of the night, I was woken up by a loud screeching tire sound. It was about 4am in the morning, still dark. At the time I was living with my cousin, so I woke his azz up, so that we can take a look outside to see what happened. We went outside and walked up and down the block. Nothing, but a black tire mark in the middle of the street.

We were on our way back into the house when a cop car pulled right next to us. Of all the luck, right? We were about 5 houses away from home. We both were in jeans and a white (wife-beater) tank top, my boxers were probably showing too. The cops thought we were gang members and up to no good.

The 2 cops separated us and questioned us one at a time. Routine questions (who I am, etc), and then asked what I was doing. After the routine questions, they asked me about my "tattoo", which is a scar on my forearm. The cop said, "what does that tattoo mean?" I pointed out that it was a scar I had when I was a little kid. The cop then asked me if I was in any gangs. I said no. He said that my friend over there, pointing at my cousin, said that he admitted it already. I told him straight out that it was fuckin bullshit. After saying that he told me to put my hands on the hood of his car so he can search me.

It was such a hassle because we both didn't have our wallets, so no ID. All I had were my keys. In the end, they agreed to let us into our house and get our wallets. I know they were doing thier jobs and all, but ******* that was SO frustrating!

Yeah I think I'd agree with you there. This is a self correcting problem. Cops like that, cops who deliberately try to piss people off, become much more likely to get shot.

The good thing is you understand he was doing his job.

Its difficult because I'd say about 85% (+ or - 10% depending on what type of area you work) of what we are told by people is a lie. We have to use different tactics to try to filter through the bullshit and find out the truth. Alot of times we get duped, but thats just how it goes.

You have a good point though, it is aggravating to the subjects we deal with, and many times this portrays a negative image of police upon those who really were not doing anything wrong. Its unfortunate but its part of the job. Depending on the situation, and definately if I determine the subjects I am out with are being honest or at least they are being honest enough for me to determine they aren't up to no good, I try to take the time and make sure the subjects understand WHY im doing what im doing. Alot of times I realize this goes a long way to easing communication between the subjects im talking to and myself.

I don't know what type of area you were in at the time that the police were talking to you and your cousin, but Im not so certain that in any situation being so direct about gang activity is the smartest way to go. Using "verbal judo" to talk someone into giving you information is the best way to go about it, just my opinion of course.

And as far as your racially profiled question comment goes. You have to consider what area you are in, what time you were on the street, your age, AND, yes, your race.

If they thought you were a part of a particular gang, its not that uncommon for gangs to be made up of nothing but a particular race. Its not necessarily "racial profiling" as it is the whole set of circumstances.

I doubt that cop will be long on this earth.

Yeah I think I'd agree with you there. This is a self correcting problem. Cops like that, cops who deliberately try to piss people off, become much more likely to get shot.

You almost sound as if you are advocating that someone shoot that cop.

Deliberately piss people off? You aren't looking at the situation from a policing standpoint, at least lightdemon was trying to. The purpose of questioning suspicious people moving along the streets at early hours of the night isn't to "piss them off". Alot of crimes are committed in the middle of the night, questioning people who look suspicious (and almost anyone looks suspicious walking around at 4am) is just part of police practices, they can help to identify potential suspects in certain crimes, or eliminate potential suspects in certain crimes within the area.

It'd sound like that if you were deliberately trying to pick a fight by consciously misinterpreting things I say.

A lot of things sound offensive when you want them to sound offensive.

Actually people who walk around at 4AM don't look suspicious, they look like they work third shift.

See, there's these things, they're called cities, and in them people of all kinds of different backgrounds engage in all kinds of different professions, some of them deviating from the typical 9-5 shift.

Yea, I'll admit I was in a pretty suspicious situation. And yes, at the time, anyone could have mistaken me for a gang member.

The reason why I think I was racially profiled, was because the cop asked me about my "tattoo" and about being in a gang after I told him my story. I was questioned second, so they already gotten my cousin's story before mine. My story and my cousins should have matched, since we had no reason for lying anyway. The tire mark was there too.

We didn't do anything wrong, we weren't lying, we complied to every request they made. Yet they still treated us as if we were gang members even when our story matched up and even evidence for it was there.
