where does this come from? what did JC say would happen after we die?

IMHO, religion is about living better while you're alive, notsomuch about being concerned about anything after death.

You still haven't given me an explanation on when and how and when your "self" first got inside the specific body that your in (the approximate time when your "self" did not exist and the time when your "self" just started to exist). Look at your reply, your not answering the question.

Do you agree that at one time your "self" did not exist? Do you agree that your "self" exists currently? If so, then do you agree that there was a point of time when your "self" existed out of non-existence?
I would like you to do the same. I will assume for the time being that when you refer to "self" you're referring to a soul of some sort.

When exactly does the soul enter into existence? How about entering the human body? Is that upon ejaculation/decent into the fallopian tube, fertilization, embedding into the uterine wall, birth, or when?

Death is truly the greatest mystery of life.

What will happen to me? Why am I conscious, and what'll happen to that when I die? Who knows.

In all likelyhood my brain will cease to function, thus my cognitive ability will cease. In other words - I'll be dead. And that's it. The end.

If there's a soul or afterlife - all the better. I won't waste my very tangible and very short life dwelling on it.

I really don't know the answer to that question. I guess its when god creates a soul is when a soul enters into existence. I don't exactly know how he makes that determination.

Ok...Would you assume the feral children 1069 had described have souls? They only really differ from other species in that they have different DNA.

If you say it's because of the DNA, then why introduce God and the soul at all? The nature of being human can then be explained much in a way 1069 has already done so.

If it's not dependent on DNA, than do other primates have souls as well? Why would God discriminate against other species so similar to ours?

I assume all feral humans to have souls.

Romans 5:12 (King James Version)
" 12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: "

I think that any human that comes from human flesh has a soul. I think that other species can't knowingly make conscious decisions that would violate gods commandments. (in other words, people to young or feral automatically go to heaven)

Noted.

Any human that comes from human flesh? Are you aware that humans can be conceived outside the body which are then implanted in a woman to raise? So are these people who come from test tubes in a lab human enough for you to consider them having a soul?

You're avoiding the question of what makes a human a human. I fear you may be begging the question in assuming to be human, you must have a soul, and to have a soul, you must be human.

What constitutes a human?

As for human flesh, I meant the sperm or the egg or anything thats "from" a human.

You slowly decay.

The soul is a human invention. mary, jesus, mohammed accended to heaven with witnesses. You see heaven was orginally high in the sky that idea wasalso changed later on.

The idea of a soul is an other example of religion talking about invisible things the idea was needed as the body stays on earth still when people are dead.

"What! Do those who seek after evil ways think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe and do righteous deeds,- that equal will be their life and their death? Ill is the judgment that they make."[Qur'an].

"Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do mischief on earth? Shall We treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right?"[Qur'an].

"Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for his own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to his own loss: No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another"[Qur'an].

"Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?"[Qur'an].
