If we were to potentially go to war with Venezuela, what would happen? I'm not doubting the superiority of US tech, but it would be on Venezuelan soil, so they'd have home field advantage. Who do you think would win? Would the conflict draw in any other nations(Russia, Mexico, ect)? And what would happen to the Cartels?

Surely this is not a serious question? The U.S. could destroy Venezuela with a few aircraft carriers. The use of ground troops would likely not be needed except to remove the current leaders and establish the previously elected government
Nicolás Maduro maintained power by challenging the legitimacy of the opposition-led National Assembly, whose president, Juan Guaidó, was declared interim president by the opposition in 2019 after Maduro's disputed 2018 re-election. The National Assembly declared Maduro's re-election invalid, and Guaidó was sworn in as acting president, triggering a political crisis that lasted for years.

IMO TACO realizes they have few friends that would come to their aid (Russia's a little busy right now) and TACO believes he can bully them and beat them up and "win." Thereby looking like the strongmen he admires and just humiliated him in China. (China's embarrassingly spiffy military parade and celebration...and he invited Putin and Jong Un...but not TACO 😭)

TACO believes Venezuela's weak and he's flexing his muscles. Guess he realized the NPP is really never going to happen, so he's going for warlord. (Go Dept of War!) IMO, this is an extension of his deploying NG troops in US cities...going for the iron fist authoritarian "look."

Wait. I thought all the lefties said military parades were communist/dictatorial shows of power. Now you are congratulating the communist Chinese of just that. Same of lefties.

They said the same thing about Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Murdering "drug dealers" has Duterte at The Hague. Trump has ordered the same.

A war with Venezuela would escalate what he has already started, but I doubt it would be as controlled as what he got from the Navy when they followed his illegal order.

Um...that's exactly what they are and what it is and what they did. So then why did TACO attempt one back in June?

I am "congratulating" China for succeeding in an intentional by-product of that display...the humiliation of TACO. I thought I was really clear on that. Esp. inviting his bff's and not TACO.

I am very disappointed in the embarrassing show that such an incompetently prepared display here in the US reflected so poorly on our fine military...and the YUGE waste of taxpayer $$ to do it...that could have been used for salaries for so many jobs cut. Or for other needed programs.

So...your post looks very silly now...do you want to comment on the part you cut out? ⬇️

Who's in charge in Kabul? Remind me. One of the poorest, most backward countries in the world.
Who's in charge in Vietnam again? An agricultural country plodding behind water buffaloes and fertilizing their paddies with human crap.

You willing to sacrifice American lives for Venezuela?

He's not planning "boots on the ground", just IMO. He loves the "shock and awe" approach showing off American tech and air boomies and drones.

A U.S. war with Venezuela would set back relations with Latin America a full century.

They may not be crazy about Venezuela’s leadership, but guaranteed that foreign troops on Venezuelan territory would not be welcomed.

You mean like how the US crushed the Iraqis with its carriers?

Oh wait 🙄😂

No war has ever been won without boots on the ground.

I have zero doubt the US armed forces would win easily but they will need troops in the country to hold the land.
The US will take casualties and I doubt the international community will be happy as Venezuela is not a threat to the US.

Canada would nuke DC in solidarity with the communist cause.

If it is a limited operation involving air strikes, like the operation we engaged in against Iran to "destroy" their nuclear program, then we would win. But if we put boots on the ground for years and start murdering thousands upon thousands of Venezuelan citizens like we did in Vietnam or Iraq? We would lose.

The Putin-Xi-Modi cause would be greatly abetted as well. They can promise stability and trade, and only for the small price of caste systems and submission. After the US is done exporting chaos, it'll have an appeal.

And that's what I tried to imply. Why would we put boots on the ground?

It would be incredibly unpopular and that's what would be foremost in TACO's mind. For his own reputation and for 2026 voting.
