What "well regulated" means in the 2nd Amendment

Paddock killed 58 and over 800 hurt in an attack that lasted 11 minutes and he fired over 1000 rounds according to the Los Vegas Police.

So I'll ask you how many need to die before bump stocks are an issue???? :peace

How many before, or since?

Death by automobile - 36,560

So...cars next? or dont you care?

Not even close- there is no complete ban on firearms, just bump stocks.

Motor vehicles are some of the most regulated things we own. From seat belts to warning sensors. How many times a day are automobiles used vs firearms?

Now you dodged the question on how many citizens need to die before bump stocks are a problem???

How many need to die???? :peace

Because he didnt make your comment...you did.

I am with Trump on this one. And some other strong conservatives too, like Reagan:

"I do not believe in taking away the right of the citizen to own guns for sporting, for hunting, and so forth, or for home defense. But I do believe that an AK-47, a machine gun, is not a sporting weapon or needed for the defense of the home.”
-Ronald Reagan

Or maybe Antonin Scalia:

"Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose."
-Antonin Scalia

But I know with the NRA having gone full-rabid mode these days, Reagan and Scalia are seen as far left communist tyrants. Do you disagree?

Don't play dodge ball, you'll lose in the first minute...

The question is how many need to die??? 58 not enough??? How many are??? :peace

More people than that drown in swimming pools every year.

Bump stocks are not a problem. Period. Your question is irrelevant. Bump stocks werent responsible for any deaths in 2019. 2018. 2016. 2015. 2014. 2013. 2012. etc.

You say you have an AK clone. You can bump fire your weapon using your thumb in a beltloop. With a little practice you can bumpfire your weapon with a little forward pressure on the foregrip.

Believe it or not I think you can disagree with someone without labeling them a douchebag.

You cheer a ban on rights that did nothing. I dont agree with frivolous laws and bans.

Seems all the 2nd A guys can do is silly unrelated comparisons...

The question is how many need to die before you feel bump stocks are an issue... the number right now is 58, how many more need to die??? :peace

You ready to go back to talking 18th Century firearms technology?

Gun laws help everywhere and every time they have been instituted. All the studies being done in this country were showing the same thing. They were actually showing that it is not just a single law that works, as much as when a coherent and well-planned series of them are put in place.

Gun control: Research shows how policies can reduce gun deaths - Business Insider

Why do you think the NRA lobbied to defund all further research in this area? Their propaganda can only propogate in the darkness of ignorance. The research was casting too much actual light on the issue.

18th century laws were made for 18th century technology. You cannot keep trying to impose 18th century laws on 21st century technology... or, for that matter, 22nd or 23rd technology. At some point, even you are going to have to cry uncle.

How many people have to die with AK47 clones or 45caliber semiautomatic handguns before you care enough to get rid of your guns...because obviously...if someone else is misusing them you will too.

Just because we have traffic laws and drivers' licenses doesn't mean we are accusing you of misusing your car. It's just that any potentially dangerous tool or equipment has some regulations. Not sure why guns should be an exception.

Of course you would support the only unconstitutional decision Trump has made since he was elected.

Scalia was referring to anti-armor weapons and surface to air missiles, not semi-automatic rifles.

You are once again dodging the question- how many need to die before you think bump stocks are an issue???? A number, not a quibble, would be nice... :doh

Now I'm more a one shot, one kill sort of guy and I never felt the need to pray and spray in civilian life. Hokey trailer park shooting techniques are just not my style. We should note the beltloop silliness was not what Paddock did to kill 58, cause injury to over 800. He had at least a dozen weapons equipped with bump stocks.

How many need to die before you think bump stocks are an issue????

You ready to go back to talking 18th Century firearms technology?

You ready to answer a very simple question??? How many need to die before bump stocks are an issue for you??? It's simple- 58 wasn't enough, how many??? :peace

Just because we have traffic laws and drivers' licenses doesn't mean we are accusing you of misusing your car. It's just that any potentially dangerous tool or equipment has some regulations. Not sure why guns should be an exception.

Because firearms ownership is a guaranteed right and the law of the land forbids infringement on that right.

The permitting process has been proven to be designed as an infringement on those rights, having nothing to do with safety.

Research following the AR ban of 94 showed it had no effect on the reduction of crime or violence.

How come you don't want to discuss 18th Century firearms technology? Is it because you were wring as **** when you said there were no 18th Century guns that had magazines?

Your blather is tedious. I'm not ignoring anything. Ive answered the question in detail. Bumpstocks are not a problem. At all. Your pathetic emotional appeal is embarrassing from a fact based perspective.

Far more people die with semiautomatic 45 caliber handguns than bumpstocks...WHY do you still own a semiautomatic 45 caliber handgun? How many people have to DIE before you CARE? Whats the matter...dont you CARE about the CHILDREN?

Awww you must be desperate now. We aren't talking about complete weapons, we are talking about a part that turns a semi only firearm into a full auto weapon.... :doh

NO WHERE, NO HOW have I claimed the complete firearm needs to be banned...

Now answer the question- how many need to die before you see bump stocks as a problem???

Apparently 58 isn't enough... :peace

So...actual implements and death of destruction...things that are used to kill...things that you owns...those dont matter to you...but 1 instance of a bumpstock misused out of 600,000 owners is just cause for you to call for a ban.

NO WHERE do I say ban a complete weapon, I respect the 2nd A, just don't read into it all some do. Now try and be honest about this discussion.

You dodged the question in all manner of deflection.

The answer is a number- how many need to die before bump stocks would be a problem to you??? Apparently 58 isn't enough.

How many- give a number not a deflection... :peace
