What was the title of the first 45 rpm record you bought?

Everyone else argued about the Stones and the Beatles but I was all about the Who. Thought Live At Leeds was the best rock album that could ever be made.
Just needed more numbers on the volume dial.
First album was the Doors, Strange Days though. First 45 something from the early Beatles.
Live at Leeds is the only album I ever owned that every song was great. Not a filler song on the album.

Oh
Dont remember the albums but it was Chicago, Kansas, and REO Speedwagon

Store had a 3 for 1 special and i took advantage

Wanted the Moody Blues also, but couldnt afford it that week
Yeah
. Forgot Chicago... 'make me smile'
. I definitely had that on Vinyl..

What is your favorite Zeppelin hit? Most people say Stairway to Heaven but mine is Kashmir.

Fun facts - they'd never been to Kashmir but had visited Morocco and that inspired the song. It took three years to write. Bonham didn't get a writing credit for the song as his alcoholism prevented him from contributing in a meaningful way.
I wish I could play drums when sober, the way Bonham did drunk and stoned. Same with Keith Moon.

I think it was Guess Who who put out American Woman. If you listened to the last line, IIRC it was “American Shit.”

Alll the boys in jr high had to try to play Wipe Out on a stack of books and slowing down Louie. Louie to hear the “good” bits.
My class was attending some function in the school gymnasium and some buddy put on the MC5 song "kick out the jams" album version. The school principal let it go once, but when they played it for the 4th time, he shut it down. For those not familiar with the MC5, the lyrics went "kick out the jams mother****er". They were a regional band, MC meaning motor city.

Strange the memories that music brings out.
When I was young, like 6 or 7, my Dad loved Nat King Cole. Use to play his music often and I came to appreciate his incredible voice.
Now when I hear one of his songs it always reminds me of my Dad.
My dad was a fan of Nat King Cole, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby Tony Bennett and a few of the other big names of the day. Though I don't own any of their music, Sinatra's My Way still touches me on the rare occasion that I hear it. My mom, on the other hand was a fan of country/ western which I never developed a taste for.

I like The Summer Wind.

Oh yeah, my dad loved country singers. And I can't tell you how many damn episodes of Hee Haw I saw. And hated.
My parents loved Hee Haw too, since we only had one TV, my brothers and I were a captive audience. I will admit Roy Clark picked a pretty mean guitar.

First 45? Bangladesh, but it was a studio version. The live album version was far better.

Never really a fan of 45s

Roy Clark has been underrated, IMO. I’ve never seen a clip of him where he didn’t look like he was loving life!

For example:

I don't like country or rap either. There are limited exceptions - I've gone to see Willie Nelson. I'm also not crazy about jazz. I hated disco, and I don't love classical because I love lyrics. I guess my tastes are pretty limited, lol.
You should go to YouTube and watch Return to Forever with Stanley Clarke and the late Chick Corea playing School Days. It will give you a new outlook on Jazz, a truly awesome song.

There is a 2 cd set that includes a second show where they rip through Tommy, and it really good too.

The Beatles were a dismal boy band.

Led Zeppelin isn't even proper music. It's the English Olympic yodeling team. It is a blight on the Earth, and proof of a malevolent deity.
Fist bump emoji
I remember having arguments in school over which was the better band, the Beatles or the Monkees. I fought for the Beatles, but there were a few lunkheads insisting it was the Monkees. They may be burning in hell as we speak. /s
Oops. My fingers appear to be on fire as I type this.

The Kinks are the only 60's UK band I can listen to on a sustained basis.

Can't remember. I do recall my cousin and I playing Tommy Roe "Dizzy" and "Heather Honey" over and over in 1969.
