what was most compelling argument from Trump's Defense?
what was most compelling argument from Trump's Defense?
The biggest thing is that the House rushed an impeachment before they had enough evidence to impeach. They should have waited to gather more evidence and then impeached and things may have turned out differently. But, with the election not too far away, Democrats felt that the lack of time trumped Trump's due process rights. It's even possible that if they had waited just one more month or two more months to impeach, they might have had Republicans in a much tougher spot.
omgThe most compelling argument for Trump's defense is that a bunch of sore loser Hillary supporters hate Trump. They hate him so much they would put the country through this sham impeachment. Look deep into Schiff's eyes and tell me there's not a psychopath lurking n there.

The most compelling argument, indeed the only argument, was that a Senate dominated by republicans won't vote to remove a president who claims to be a Republican.
Partisanship rules. Facts don't matter.
This impeachment farce was drawn out way too long. It should have been concluded in one day when it was learned that dem managers had no evidence of intent.
Let's not forget that Hillary skated away from all her misdeeds for the same reason. FBI Director Comey said that although she mishandled classified information, and jeopardized the nation's security, her intent couldn't be proven so she had to be forgiven.
I loved the part where Trump's lawyers argued during impeachment that pursuing witness testimony was a place for the courts and not Congress, while simultaneously arguing in court that pursuing witness testimony was a place for Congress and not the courts.
I disagree
I think they knew they didn't have anything and that is one reason they waited. It could be they waited just to keep some of the candidates off th campaign trail... God knows.. but one thing I know:The Ds are all about politics

Funny you make that an argument. When have Democrats impeached even one Democrat president?
They haven't, which supports my argument that partisanship rules.
Well good. Now they have not only not convicted any Democrats, they have not convicted any Republicans. Isn't that great?
there wasn't one.
The Democrats have certainly insured that partisanship would dominate. It's a pity. This is one area the founders hoped would be above partisanship. They haven't, which supports my argument that partisanship rules.
Is partisanship great? Must be, because it certainly rules government nowadays.
