I used to agree with him, and still do with cable. But now that streaming has come along, so much more to watch.
More junk.
I dumped netflix, because outside of one or two shows, it had nothing to offer. Now I primarily watch Australian TV shows. Don't ask me how I am able to view them ;)

I watch 4 styles of content primarily

Car reviews and news

Warhammer news and miniature paintings

Uk politics for some reason ( two UK YouTube channel) and international economics

Computer hardware review channels ( gamers nexus, LTT, Dawid does Stuff)

When good movies get released on Tubi or Netflix I will watch them, generally action style movies

Tubi and Netflix don't have good movies. Can't tell you where I get good movies, but I got my methods ;)

Yeah, I've looking into watching Australian shows. You would think it would be easy, these days. Sure, there's a lot of junk, but there is also a lot of entertainment out there.

I'm fussy ;)

Almost anything without zombies.

Particularly fond of historical drama/adventure and futuristic science fiction. Both old and new, domestic and international.

You should check out Sinners, and get over zombies.

Yes yes, we all like watching a variety of TV, but most people tend to lean towards one kind of TV watching, like sports, or daytime soaps, or reality tv.

What is yours?
I do really have a few types that I lean towards, but I guess fictional drama and crime would likely be closest to the main.

Under Fictional drama and crime genre though, I have many likes which is why I went with that.

Hunter
The Glades
Silk Stalkings
Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys (1970s)
Nancy Drew (1990s, Canadian)
Kung Fu The Legend Continues
Father Dowling Mysteries
the Finder
castle
Lucifer
Chuck
Psych
*my husband got me into the rookie, but I can't do the binge watching of new shows (for me) that he does
House
9-1-1
9-1-1 Lonestar

those are the ones I can think of that I like (most I own) that fit into those 2 categories without crossing over into some other main one.

I also like a couple of sitcoms, sci-fi series and/or horror/apocalyptic shows too. And several cartoons, but they do tend to be older cartoons, like GI Joe, Gargoyles, etc. or ones my kids like. I occasionally appreciate true crime, but more documentary type, covering one specific crime rather than continuous tv show.

I used to be very afraid of zombies, truly an irrational fear obviously, and wouldn't watch them at all. But I found that just watching fictional movies and shows with zombies helped me. Still occasionally will get spooked if alone, but much more rarely. Zombies and small things that eat or attack people (gremlins, critters, Chucky, even the Leprachaun) are the things that tend to scare me from fiction. I have no issue with Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, vampires, werewolves, mummies, demons. they can give me a startle in movies, but don't scare me.

Not accusing you of being afraid, I do get that some people just don't like that genre, only jumping off your comment.

My zombie aversion actually comes from an overly saturated diet of zombie mayhem via AMC and my internet/streaming service. Eleven seasons of The Walking Dead was more than enough for me. The franchise seems to be self-perpetuating.

But on the other hand, I enjoyed the battles waged by the wights reanimated by the White Walkers against human defenders in Game of Thrones. The Others gave the mayhem a sinister, directed intelligence that kept me interested.

Other than during college football season or PGA tour, I largely avoid network television, unless there is a major news event. I am more into streamed movies, documentaries, you tube snippets, etc. There is not much worth watching on network TV these days.

Ok ok, I meant on your normal tv viewing, unless...............................

for me and my family: none, Zero, nada, nothing

decades ago our TV went to the scrap yard and back to the store it came from. good riddance to that Corrupt piece of Propagandizing device.

it was the TV or the bible with family at night........the TV went.

and we never looked back.

if we need to see something there is plenty of Junk on YouTube.........too much.

Sports, sports, and more sports. But in those times when I’ve had my fill, then I turn to a few guilty pleasures. I went through all of the “Banacek” episodes, and I’m working on getting through “Perry Mason.” Any Taylor Sheridan series is a draw- I finished “Landman” recently, and it was awesome. For movies, I’ve actually started the “Harry Potter” series, and I’m going to rewatch all of the “Mission: Impossible” movies before seeing the new finale in the theater.

I tried to hit both news and science, but multiple choices were not allowed.
