Too bad it isn't a choice :prof

even if its not a choice, its a choice to act on gay tendancies vs acting straight to preserve the norm of society, for gays preserving the norm of society is becoming less and less appealing vs acting on their instincts.

It's a choice to engage in homosexual sex, but not a choice to be attracted to the same sex. Also, acting straight to preserve the norm of society is a quick way to find yourself putting a gun like the one in your sig in your mouth and pulling the trigger.

Glad I was born in the 90's.

I would never argue with a personal observation based on experience that you describe. However, I used to hang out in Greenwich Village for many years, had many gay friends and never noticed that they were any more mature than the average male of a certain age, socioeconomic or educational background. Some were pure assclowns like me and some were more somber, but, no more mature.

I also think it may have to do where you hang out. All I know is in college and in work places the gay men I've come across, on average, are more respectful and mature. I'm not saying that straight males are inferior, but I am saying based on the social circles I've been in the gay males seem to be, on average, more "quality" people by my definition.

like i just said acting is a choice, even when gays arent fully accepted, some choose to keep it still in the closet and live straight lives to maintain the norm.my father came out of the closet 5 years ago,hes not even really gay more bi curious,he had multiple boyfriends after he and my mother broke up,and recently fell in love with a women his age he tried to marry.for someone like him gay vs straight is simply which one serves him better, for others its social status, getting married and being straight when people are loking vs being openly gay, being openly gay has become appealing in recent years, that is half the reason people become open, the other half is the fact society doesnt run after you with pitchforks anymore for admitting being gay,.

And that is a rather good thing, I can't even imagine what it must have been like being gay 50 years ago, and I can't imagine the hell of having to live your whole life being in a fake relationship, repressing who you really are.

being gay 50 years ago would have resulted in angry villagers with pitchforks and torches yelling gay witch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HE MUST BE BURNED BECAUSE GAY PEOPLE ARE POSSESED BY SATAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:fueltofir

LOL @ all of you.

Nevada - it, like Alaska, has a dominant male to female ratio - however - it has many pro-male affinities such as gambling/drinking strippers/bars and legalized prostitution.

Alaska - though it has a lot of guys - they're all stuck inside and tend to commit suicide more frequently because apparently life there just sucks nards without enough chicks to go around. No one looks sexy in a parka.

don't know much about Alaska in term of manliness... but as a native Nevadan, I can attest Nevada does not belong on the list.

maybe back in the day Nevada was manly, like when cowboys roamed around, or the mob .. but not today.. Nevada is California-lite.. sissies and pansies rule the roost.
the only reason strip clubs and the like exist is for tourists.... without the tourist industry, those places would be shut down in a heartbeat.

Got to agree...I mean just look at Harry Reid.

I agree with what you have said. There are several factors that give rise to maturity, including: age, professional position, education etc.

You forgot Wisconsin.

My view may be a bit skewed.... All my coworkers are male and I fear I have adopted some of their habits as well (although I cannot replicate some of their actions for lack of particular body parts).

All day I watch and listen to people burp and scratch their balls. They fart when I walk out of the room (hopefully I have walked out -- only to gag when I return), even though the boss installed a urinal I have to wipe the seat down before I pee, there is yelling, throwing and pounding of things -- especially when the Badgers or the Packers lose.

Maybe it is just my corner of the state, but Wisconsin is very manly.

What is the hairiest, most testerone-flowin, most scruff-rubbin, hariy-ball-sac scratchinest state in the union?

Whichever state I happen to be in at the moment, of course.

Kalifornia-where men are women or saving up to become one

only the coastal cities, the non coastal cities were run by rednecks and cowboys, still too close to the coast for me so i opted to be an adopted texan, and texas took me in:2wave:

Make that a hockey game then sure! Just because I wear makeup, wear skirts, and shave all the appropriate places doesn't mean I don't like sports.

you had me up until hockey game,im fine with not bumping uglies but making me watch hockies, might as well put a bullet in my brain and spare me the misery.that is unless you can provide a bunch of weed,i own at playstation hockey when im stoned, and i dont even know the game rules:lamo

utah
only because some of the guys there are foolish enough to take multiple wives

hockey is one of my favorite sports... but once upon a time, i thought it sucked.
once i knew the rules, it got much better.

i hate hockey,i also hate nascar,i just wish they could compile fight scenes into a tv show and skip the sport itself, just like i think someone should air a tv show that only shows what happens when someone makes a right turn in nascar:shock:

I can't watch Nascar on tv.... but live races are pretty damn cool.. i'm a drag racing kinda guy, personally... but I can't watch drag racing on tv either.

I stick to hockey, football, volleyball, and golf.... everything else bores me to tears

I would have voted for Louisiana. Think Sons of Guns and Billy the Exterminator!

I picked Montana. I'd love to live there someday.
