A corporation has much more money to contribute to a political campaign than an average citizen. The result of that is very troubling. How else would we get laws like the recent ruling on eminent domain?

As far as gerrymandering, I don't know the answer.

The recent rulings on imminent domain is the result of activist judges who ignore what the law states and twist words. Politicians are politicians. If you are surprised that they are lying to people, then you have obviously had the Barney the Liberal Dinosaur on too long. No more TV until your brain turns back on.
But judges are supposedly above political favor. Sadly, this is no longer the case. Any judge that ever makes law from the bench should immediately be removed, as that is not their job.

It's china all right, but you mostly missed the whys. You mostly gave symptoms of the U.S. decline, and china's rise, not causes. China is going to come out ahead because the U.S. is shooting itself in the foot. China could never triumph over the U.S. in any way, if we stop harming ourselves, weakening our country. Here's are the causes:

- The weakening of the U.S. in engineering, science, math, and foreign languages, etc., by the feckless government school system, which should have been shiitcanned 50 years ago but hangs on because of the "iron triangle" of government bureaucrats, powerful teachers' unions, and deadbeat parents who expect taxpayers to pay their education bills.

- The huge burden and security threat of the illegal alien problem, perpetuated by cowardly politicians, corporations that want cheap illegal alien labor, and hispanic pressure groups.

- The huge and growing government debt created by the never-to-be-appeased for "entitlements" by groups like the greedy geezers.

- "Affirmative action", "diversity", and whatever the nom du jour is for the latest gimmick to treat blacks and other minorities like children and keep the best people from attaining their goals, and this in a newly globally competitive world where almost no place else is such supremely stupid policy in effect.

Funny how much I generally agree with this gentlemen.

But then, I'd say the greatest problem facing us should be ignorance and fear !

Not China or Iran..

And I am one of those "greedy geezers" !

You didn't answer the question. Unions have far more money than any single member, the NRA has more money than any bubba, and Bill Gates himself has more money than any union.

That one union, company, political lobbying group, or individual has more money than another isn't just and sufficient criteria to deny them their place in government.

We get laws like the recent ruling on eminent domain because some people think that a person's property belongs to the state, not to the person. Those people manage to get elected and appointed because some people think others with more property don't deserve to participate in government.

As for gerrymandering, I do know the answer. Require the political districts be drawn without interior convex angles, or some minimum allowable angle, like 160 degrees, and that they be drawn only with population density information available, and that the number of people in each district be equal to the mean population plus or minus one or two standard deviations.

Thus the partisan hack drawing the lines can't make any snakes or giraffes, and even if he could, all knows is that 32,000 people live in A and 31,000 live in B. He doesn't know if they're black, white, or zebras, and he doesn't know what party they live in.

China Critics Say Crackdown Reaches U.S.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Peter Yuan Li was beaten, tied up, blindfolded with duct tape and robbed of two laptop computers last week by three Asian men who burst into his suburban Atlanta home with a gun and knife.

He and other Chinese-Americans suspect it was no ordinary robbery.

Li, who works for a newspaper and Web site critical of the Chinese Communist Party, is one of several people tied to China's banned Falun Gong spiritual movement who say they have been harassed and hit with break-ins in the United States by Chinese agents. (my emphasis)

They say China has carried its crackdown on dissidents to this country.

FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett said the bureau is looking into the attack on Li for potential civil rights violations and refused to comment on whether the Chinese government was behind it.

The men who broke into Li's home near Duluth spoke Korean and Mandarin and left behind certain valuables, including a camcorder and television, but took his computers, a phone and his wallet, according to Li and the Fulton County police report. They also demanded unspecified documents and pried open two file cabinets, he said.

...

Just a piece of evidence.

Wasn't imminent domain passed by liberal JUDGES who aren't supposed to be LEGISLATING, because they aren't the LEGISLATURE?

UN AGENDA 21

Its architecture for World government system, and its active now in the good old USA.

I wonder why our leaders haven't told us about it? Perhaps they know we would reject it, but our leaders are telling the rest of the world we love it, yet we have never heard of it.
