We need to get a handle on the right wing extremist violence threat, if we do that, legally and justly, I think it will limit how far they can go.
He artificially propped up a failing industry. American cars are still terrible and overpriced, last time I checked.
Ummm... No, he gave a small minority of poor people really crappy, overpriced healthcare, on a website that barely works.
In exchange, insurance rates for literally everyone else shot through the roof.
Slowest recovery, and one of the weakest job markets, in American history.
That was the US military and intelligence apparatus, not Obama.
Yes, actually. Being broke, and forced to live with my parents for five years, as a direct result of Obama's crappy economic policies, was a pretty terrible experience.
But, hey! At least queers could "put a ring on it" before kiestering things (not that it ever stopped them). I guess that was something.
Today, I make 80k a year, and own a home worth 350k. There's a very good chance that will go away under Biden, as my industry will be one of the first on the chopping block.
Obama didn't separate families as a deterrent to future immigrants, and neither will Biden.
like I said, I feel for you, must have been a nightmare to see the Obama's move into the White House, kind of like the Jeffersons moving next to Archie.
Checks and balances with both parties have created gridlock. Since I’ve been hit from both sides here, I’ll be sad to go from this life seeing the way our Nation is.
Can you provide a link showing that Obama separated families, that he did it on purpose, and that he did all of this as a deterrent to future immigrants? I'll be waiting.Lol. Sure, guy. Whatever you say.
I would be too. But I hope that some of the sentiments being expressed on this thread aren't representative of most of my fellow citizens. The classism, the vengeance-seeking, the contempt for others is what is deplorable, in my opinion. Horrifying. Just a little bit of trying to see each other as neighbors would go a very long way.

First off, the primary reason children are separated from the adults they illegally crossed the border with is because those adults are not "family," or "parents," to begin with. They're human traffickers, quite possibly transporting the children for nefarious purposes.
Secondly, the whole reason this separation policy started being prioritized is because the Obama Administration actually handed thousands of children over to human traffickers, due to being too lazy and incompetent to actually check credentials beforehand.
Third, prove that "deterring immigrants" has anything to do with it.
Lol. Sure, guy. Whatever you say.
Oooo... The tried and true old Leftist cop out. Can't win the argument? Call your opponent "racist."
I said provide a link. I'm not interested in your summary.
If you think I am going to rehash the right wing crap you spewed in that post about the Obama era with you then you are sadly mistaken. At the core of everything you wrote is the taint of white grievance, logic and facts have nothing to do with your post and impressions about the 8 years of Obama. I might as well debate a rabid dog for all the good it will do either of us.
The group you belong to politically and apparently socially is about to get wiped off the face of the earth, thrown into the dustbin of history and ridiculed by historians until we are nothing but an era in the distant past.
I'm surprised a baiting OP like this hasn't been taken down by a monitor yetSo Trump loses in a humiliating defeat. The republicans go back to being republicans and vow to never nominate a Trump like character again.
What happens to Trump's deplorables? Those less-than-college educated, whites who are afraid of minorities?
Ummm... No. Stop being lazy.
You made the claim, you back it up.
*Factually* the fact of the matter remains that the Obama Administration did make use of the very cages you're complaining about.
“Are you in favor of this new move announced by the attorney general early this week, that if you cross the border illegally even if you’re a mother with your children, to arrest you?” NPR’s John Burnett asked. “We’re going to prosecute you, we’re going to send your kids to a juvenile shelter?”
“They’re coming here for a reason,” Kelly said of migrants fleeing violence in Central America. “And I sympathize with the reason. But the laws are the laws. But a big name of the game is deterrence.”
Family separation would be a tough deterrent, Burnett noted.
“It could be a tough deterrent — would be a tough deterrent,” Kelly replied.

“Let me start by saying I would do almost anything to deter the people from Central America to getting on this very, very dangerous network that brings them up through Mexico to the United States,” Kelly said.
Blitzer pressed him on the point: Is the Department of Homeland Security going to separate children from their parents?
“Yes, I am considering, in order to deter more movement along this terribly dangerous network, I am considering exactly that,” Kelly said. “They will be well cared for as we deal with their parents.”
Even in March 2017, the idea was not new. Two weeks after Trump was inaugurated, a DHS official named John Lafferty raised the idea of using family separation as a deterrent in a town hall meeting for Citizenship and Immigration Services officials, according to documents obtained by NBC News.
Once Kelly left DHS to join the White House in July, the hunt for deterrent policies continued. During an August meeting, the New Yorker reported, a DHS official named Gene Hamilton told DHS officials “that over the next few days we’d need to generate paperwork laying out everything we could do to deter immigrants from coming to the U.S. illegally,” one person said. Family separations reportedly were included in the mix.
On Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Sessions was asked by host Laura Ingraham that question directly.
“General Sessions, is this policy in part used as a deterrent?” she asked. “Are you trying to deter people from bringing children or minors across this dangerous journey? Is that part of what the separation is about?”
“Fundamentally, we are enforcing the law,” Sessions replied. “If you break into the country …”
“But is it a deterrent, sir?” Ingraham interjected. “Are you considering it a deterrent?”
“I see that the fact that no one was being prosecuted for this was a factor in a fivefold increase in four years in this kind of illegal immigration,” Sessions said. “So, yes, hopefully people will get the message and come through the border at the port of entry and not break across the border unlawfully.”

On a conference call with reporters on Tuesday morning, HHS’s acting assistant secretary, Steven Wagner, was explicit, according to a transcript provided to The Post by CNBC’s Christina Wilkie.
“We are staying one step ahead of the need,” Wagner said. “We expect that the new policy will result in a deterrence effect, we certainly hope that parents stop bringing their kids on this dangerous journey and entering the country illegally. So we are prepared to continue to expand capacity as needed. We hope that that will not be necessary in the future.”

I picked "other". Because there will be another person of color in the White House, the knuckle-draggers will form another "tea party" which, lets not kid ourselves - are a bunch of white supremacists masquerading as deficit hawks. So Trump loses in a humiliating defeat. The republicans go back to being republicans and vow to never nominate a Trump like character again.

Uh oh, guys, Nota's concerned.

Separate them from their families and throw them in cages. They continue to live in democratic heads rent-free.
Here are the administration officials who have said that family separation is meant as a deterrent

Okay, thank you.
In kind:
Obama administration placed children with human traffickers, report says
Either way, children will wind up being detained separately, as it is frankly necessary.
So Trump loses in a humiliating defeat. The republicans go back to being republicans and vow to never nominate a Trump like character again.
What happens to Trump's deplorables? Those less-than-college educated, whites who are afraid of minorities?
Did Obama do that on purpose?
Because I have the Trump administration's own words to show that they separated families just to be cruel.
