Events:
  1. Last week, it was confirmed that we had the green light for migration.
  2. Yesterday
    1. the server was cloned (took almost 6 hours)
    2. upgrade proceeded
    3. reboots during the upgrade failed, several were needed
    4. upgrade failed
    5. level 3 techs had to login to assist
    6. upgrade completed after 16 hrs
  3. A symlink (sorry for the technical) was missing to our database. Troubleshooting.
  4. This morning I verified the data is there and was not missing! We were concerned to say the least.
  5. Finally, I had given very specific instruction on our redis server before the upgrade, but the config file was missing.
  6. Add cloned drive to the server
    1. Verify database was a mirror
    2. Copy/paste config file to from clone, restart redis - badah bing!
Notes:
  1. I formally asked the technical team to preserve the redis.conf file
  2. We also informed them that a bios update was needed else there would be reboot issues
They completely ignored both of these requests.

Red worked double shifts at his job all weekend. :(

Was just me, myself and I. However, he did checkin and give guidance not to punch the ****ing wall a few times!
Well thanks for all that work. Forget the wall - when you're frustrated take it out on the wireless printer. They deserve it.

At 3 Hours and 1 Minute I was getting worried...

Thanks for all the hard work!! :)

We're back!

Thanks to the admins for all that they do.

Being a survivor of many, many major conversions THANKS! It's only easy when it's easy but when it's not it can be a nightmare.

We probably would have been online sooner but you hit "refresh" 20,000 times which gummed up the works.
That was just in the first hour... the second hour I really started worrying.

Now there are only TWO threads in the "New Threads" section!

(Don't worry--this is the last update. :) )

Having been through a similar meltdown with an entire organization waiting on the reboot, I can't express my sympathies strongly enough. Get some rest!

I feel sorry for some folks...had to go a whole day without starting threads whining about "woke" or how Biden acts like an old man!
