Shows just how serious this is. Democrat Governors asleep at the switch refusing to deploy the NG. Waltz is another fine example. But Newsome walking in the footsteps of George Wallace.

On an unseasonably chilly but sunny day, March 20, 1965, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson stood on the porch of his Texas ranch and read a telegram he had just sent to Alabama Gov. George Wallace.

"I am calling into federal service selected units of the Alabama National Guard… to help you meet your state responsibilities," Johnson said.

“For more than a week, Johnson and Wallace had been going back and forth about the president's concerns for the safety of Black Alabamians trying to exercise their right to vote and peacefully protest police brutality. “

It's too bad LBJ decided to go all in on fighting the Viet Congs. He would have had a hell of a legacy otherwise.

MAGA Jesus is deploying the Guard and the Marines because he wants to pretend he's a tough guy. He apparently seems more interested in using the US military on Americans than on foreign adversaries.

Here is the problem with your example.
Yes LBJ over road the Governor of Alabama and called out the National Guard to protect the protestors on the eve of the momentous civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Ala..
Is this really what you think Trump is doing?

Trump is protecting ICE from violent rioters. Something Newsome nor Waltz thought was necessary.

Gavin’s failure to act in the name of safety was a non-starter.

Foolish comparison. The two events could not be more different.

Repeating this ^ bullshit doesn’t make it any less bullshit.

Why did those southern white conservatives hate non-white people so much?

Why did those southern white conservatives hate non-white people so much?
It was ingrained in their politics. People like me weren't even allowed to attend the "Democratic" National Convention until the late 60's.

Even non-political southern white conservatives hated black people. Why was that?

Yeah, don’t you know those militarized secret police with helmets, body armor, assault rifles, and armored vehicles need to be protected?
When did ICE agents get body armor, assault rifles, and armored vehicles?

No he is not. ICE isn't in the streets.

That's California's problem, not the fed. Let them burn on their own, unless CA asks for help.

I like a lot of Trump's decisions but this wrong to usurp states rights. Nothing good will come of this.
