Even if the children have been raised on images of jews born from pigs and other demonizations of jews and the west. Even if the children are so indoctrinated that they hate Israel and America with every molecule of their being....I still think they're kids and thus young enough to have the brainwashing reversed.
I guess it's impossible to clear the areas in Israel that can be reached since according to you they're lobbing shite as fast as it can be reloaded....so I guess to save people from dying in Israel you gotta take out the school yard children and all.
But I don't like it. And I don't think all the scenarios where children are taken out are that way......where there is no other choice. I do blame Hezbollah more for the deaths of children because I believe they actually like when children are killed as the media benefits them and brings sympathy to their cause. I think you could fairly argue that "dead children" are a tool in their arsenal.
However if you're not careful and kill citizens with reckless abandon you become as bad as the enemy you are fighting. Clearly this hasn't happened yet. If Israel killed with the same reckless abandon as Hezbollah this whole thing would have been over before it started.

If however, Lebanon cannot eliminate the threat for whatever reason, they must be invaded to remove the destructive capability from these aggressors. We tend to call this action.....WAR.
War is not merely a series of battles to destroy a physical enemy however, it is a psycological proccess as well. To win a war, the enemy must be defeated on all levels, or completely eliminated from the face of the Earth. The second option here is extremely unlikely, and the first will require a change in the Civilian support for this enemy.....Blowing up Children from the Air is unlikely to help with this change.
Isreal needs to go in, remove the Hezboulah Town by Town, and remain long enough to protect those children from being used as shields again. Obviously The fledgling Lebonese Government Cannot (or will not) do this themselves.

Airstrike or not to aristrike -- that is the question.
That's not an option. Don't argue the given.tecoyah said:Actually the intent of the post was to say...no airstrike, thus the ground invasion.
That poll would be about as idiotic as the rest.Joby said:I'd bomb the people who make idiotic polls.

Yes, but i would have done it differently
No, they should have used diplomacy

1) think about what the Geneva convention says about deliberately targeting civilians...even those being used as shield.
2) Your gonna lose a lot of the world's support for such an openly cruel move. The self defense flag isn't gonna help you much no matter how much you think it's true.
3)Can you think of anything that would bring the rest of the Arab countries to Lebanon's aid faster than killing a yard full of children intentionally?
Really think about that last one for a second. The westernized world is gonna be sickened by such a strike. The Islamic world is gonna want blood. Could you really blame them for the retaliation strike they would run?
A land retaliation would cost Israel soldiers but the over all cost would be less.

Gardener said:There are two wars being fought when it comes to Israel. The first war is the physical war, fought for the existence of the Jewish state and involving questions like troops and bombs. Israel is winning this war at least in regerds to their continuing existance.
The second war is more subtle, and more wide ranging, and this is a war that Israel is losing -- the war of propaganda. In an arena where those who cannot win militarily utilize all at their disposal to win rhetorically, such bombings just provide ammunition to those who really don't need much to begin with. Heck, with such vast numerical superiority, the rabid haters of Jews outnumber Jews by a considerable margain, and those who share such rabid hatred use organizations such as the U. N. and the EAD as vehicles for exercizing influence. This shapes people's perceptions, and creates an atmosphere where the hetred of the Jewish state becomes so knee-jerk that there is almost nothing that Israel CAN do to influence perception on the world stage. The odds are stacked against them because antisemitism is so wide spread and this antisemitism now manifests itself as an unrelenting attack upon the Jewish state.
If there were 250 million members of the KKK in the United States, and 5 million black people, who do you think would win the war of propaganda? THis is a case of majority vrs. minority and one where the world has turned its back on the minority because it only listens to the majority. Such is the way of the world, and short of abandoning the desire for self determination -- a desire afforded just about every other peopleof the world -- I don't think there is anything Israel can do to stem this rising tide of antisemitism with all it's specious denial that the unrelenting attacks on the Jewish state have nothing to do with the fact it is the Jewish state.
