What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

The grilling is literally 10 minutes tops......in the winter I've just stuck them under the broiler. Either way just a few minutes each side just sp the sauce is caramelized.
OK, I tried your method for pork ribs and they came out perfect: moist, tender, delicious. Thanks, that's going to be my "go to" method from now on.

Having Sal's traditional New York Slice (pizza). I live in the boonies and they are in Auckland and Wellington so I buy four or five and freeze them. Today I thawed out three slices! Meatball, Sausage and peperoni.
I hate to be the first one to tell you this Bodi, but, I don't think New Zealanders are allowed to eat NY pizza.

Got off to a bad start today. I didn’t feel well and we had a wake to attend in New Jersey late afternoon. We stopped at a Perkins pancake on the way home so we both ate breakfast for dinner. Wife had a Belgian waffle w/syrupal, and I had an everything omelette w/hashbrowns, rye toast and chocolate milk.

Perkins Pancake House! I remember those. Hope you are feeling better.

Dinner: open face tuna melts on English muffin with Muenster, red onion, pepperoncini, and chopped artichokes (in water, not oil...barely taste but excellent fiber.)

It was started by Salvatore Leo born in Italy who immigrated to Queens in the 50's, or something... he met a Kiwi, they became mates and then he decided to open up Sal's in New Zealand. This is authentic New York Slice! We don't tell anybody but there is nothing they can do. We are isolated as heck!

Sandwich on French bread with roast beef, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, oil/vinegar, basil/oregano. Delivery from Jimmy John's.

I really like their sandwiches. Had an Italian one the other day....got 3 meals out of it.

They have a hot honey chicken sub that looked good...guys in line said it's pretty hot. I may have to go back and try that.

Oops. Neva-mind. It was Jersey Mikes here in town. I like Jimmy Johns too but we dont have one close.

Cleaned out the fridge. Ritz, Club and Finn Crisp crackers, cheeses, chicken salad, egg salad, vegetable cream cheese, black and kalamata olives, chicken and ham slices. Banana pudding.

Ritz cracker flavors...Everything Bagel and Roasted Vegetable. Da bomb! Eat 'em with nothing on 'em.

Hilarious! I wish someone in Oregon had met Sal and learned how to make NY pizza.

In and Out Burger did a pop-up store here last week in Auckland. They are testing the waters. Hopefully they franchise over here SOON!

We’re going to Oregon in September to visit with my oldest son and his wife. They’re moving to Bend which during our last trip out that way we missed as well as Crater Lake. We loved the coastline and spent about a week cruising it about 15 years ago.

@weaver2

We lived in Corvallis and had a beach cabin in Lincoln Beach overlooking the beach. Loved going there. Crate Lake is freaking Epic.

.

LOL sounds like old home week right here on "What Did You Have for Dinner". We moved here 10 years ago. All our kids had moved out west, one in Anchorage, one in Phoenix and one halfway between in Bend. We used to come out here for Christmas every year (we flew Portland to Portland) and it actually began to feel like a homecoming about the time we hit Madras. I don't regret the 45 years we lived in Maine but the only two things I really miss about Maine are haddock and my little pink and green enameled wood cook stove in our cabin in the woods.

If I get really desperate for decent pizza we can go to Abby's in Coos Bay. Someone there knew Sal.

I made Mormon funeral potatoes and smoked sausage. They needed more cheese and a smaller dice on the onion, but they were much better than my first attempt to make them.

Iced tea was the beverage.

OK I gotta have the recipe for Mormon Funeral Potatoes.

I used buttered panko bread crumbs instead of crushed corn flakes, but the result is the same. Its a cheese and dairy calorie bomb but they are so good.

Last day of school for my grandson. We picked him up from school and our granddaughter from daycare and took them to the farm to feed the animals and ride the ponies. We had Kosher dogs, fries and ice cream.

Oh, I want to go! How are he and the dog doing?

I see that recipe everywhere but just cant make myself make it. It looks so good but yeah, that calorie and fat bomb. I made a french onion soup potatoes au gratin with gruyere cheese for Christmas that was to die for...like a heart attack!

I love potatoes but have tried to cut back on them in my cooking. I'm on a bread kick right now and that's not any better.

Jersey Mike's hot honey chicken cheesesteak. Had to try it. I got it without cheese because...it just sounded weird with cheese. Not like with actual beef steak.

It was good. Not hot at all and some guy in line had warned me "it's really hot." I should have asked for extra. But it was a pleasant sandwich...chicken, grilled onions, hot honey.
