What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Avocado salad, tempura, salmon sushi, Wagu beef slices, beef fried rice, asparagus spears and spaghetti, all shared with fine company of five. No pictures this time, as this group of dinner club friends has a no photographs rule, since I am the only man allowed.

Wife and I drove to the Jersey shore to try to beat the heat. I parked my chair right at surf line and enjoyed watching the tide go out and getting wet at the same time. Later we met with my brother and sister in law for dinner. We shared fried calamari and conch fritters. Then I had the sea food fra diavlo and wife had the shrimp francese. Two wonderful meals but too full for dessert.🍨 🤢

Grandson sent a burrito home with his S.O. for me from the place he manages. He and his girlfriend live with us.

I like that place on the outskirts of Point Pleasant whose name is alluding me at the moment. It’s a seafood market but they’ll prepare your choice to order. Picnic tables inside the place.

Geeze I wish I could remember the name. Ugh.

I believe you’re thinking of the Shrimp Box. 👍We ate at Mr Shrimp in Belmar.👍

Conch fritters are great. We used to demolish platters full.

Edit: After looking for a recipe, it appears what we used to demolish by the platter full were actually cracked conch. Fillets pounded thin, breaded and fried like fish. Conch fritters look more like hush puppies with conch meat included in the recipe.

Tonight’s meal du jour was egg salad and bacon on multi grain bread, Wise potato chips, my brothers home made pickles, and black cherry soda.
