What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Kiddo and I are having pizza and cheese filled pretzel bread sticks. I had to lie and say that it's Party Pizza. It isn't. It's a bit of an upgrade, though, so the lie seemed to be justified. While I was typing this, a request was made for another piece because, "It's just so good."

Leftover ribs and the last of the Key Lime Pie.
BBQ and key lime pie sounds amazing. I'm too lazy to make a box of brownies tonight.

Grilled chicken shish kebab, jasmine rice, tomato, olives, marinated mushrooms, feta cheese, lemon water.
You are a great cook.

Sneaky sneaky. :)

Thank you but I can’t take credit for putting the shish kabobs together. I bought them ready made at the Amish poultry market. They use large pieces of chicken breast and the kabob itself is heavy and they only cost $4.50 each! I couldn’t build one like theirs for that price. 😋. My part is just to grill it.👍

My wife made brown sugar glazed meatballs with Dijon mustard. I made the box of scalloped potatoes that I've been eyeing for a couple days and a can of mixed vegetables. It was a good dinner. Teamwork makes the dream work.

I made the pizza that I had planned to make last night. I dont have the software that @ASHES linked to me the last time I posted pics, or I would post a picture of it.

We made a pesto and tomato pizza and had a salad to go with it.
I used to visit Milan a lot on business, and a little Pizza place next to the hotel I used made these absolutely perfect tomato and basil pizzas. Just really simple classic pizzas, but whatever they did with their pizza sauce was just delightful. Pretty much hooked me on the Basil and Tomato combo for just about any dish you can include them in.

Still in the cooler months here, but you can tell spring is on it's way. Most of the fruit trees are showing the start of new buds, and the grape vines even have the first leaves appearing. Even one of the bananas palms has a beautiful big flower with a bunch of bananas behind it. All seems early compared to where we should be, but the temps are warming fast now as the days get noticeably longer.

I haven't yet got sick of my winter soups, so dinner at the moment starts with a chicken and vegetable soup using some of the winter greens from the garden. Looks way to green, but tastes like chicken. Pretty damn good though. Main course last night and tonight is a chicken, corn, potato, onion, and coconut cream curry over basmati rice. Starting to look forward to some more Spring type meals coming soon, but still enjoying our Winter fare for now.

BBQ pulled beef brisket on a toasted Kaiser bun with a side of red beans and rice. It was as good as it sounds, but this was purely microwave except for the toasted bun.

My favorite fish.😋
I found bags of 1/2 lb quick frozen filets at GFS cheap. I have 2 bags of them. Strangely they were cheaper than cod or haddock. I floured and seared it on both sides in oil and butter. I get nervous cooking fish because I don't want to overcook it, but I walked away for 10 minutes to try to get it to brown and it did. It still didn't break up, so that was a win. I love fish.

I have a small bag of orange lentils that I wanted to use up before I open my 5lb bag of green lentils. I quickly discovered why I haven't used them up, because when they are cooked the quickly turn into Indian dal instead of firm green french lentils. It tasted good but it wasn't internet food blog pretty.

Your London broil with chimichuri sounds amazing.

I printed out the original Argentine recipe and it is easy to make. If it wasn’t I wouldn’t make it.🤣.
