What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

We had spicy noodled last night with assorted veggies. We cook the noodles separately, so we have some leftover. We'll attempt a pad thai tonight.

gigantic artichokes.

Was going to follow up with steak, but I guess I ended up eating so much butter with the leaf "meat" and then heart that I just wasn't hungry. Random food later.

But tonight, rare grass-fed ribeye steaks. Usually don't eat anything else with a steak so I have room for a bigger steak. Just shift veggies & fruit to earlier in the day. (Also, because I don't want to do anything that could cause me to screw up the steak. I tend to pride myself on being able to cook steak exactly to various individuals' preferences.

went to a deli in the area.

grilled cheese with tomato
pickle
1/2 order of nachos

Gonna be some medium-rare to medium grass-fed cheeseburgers from our feel-good meat share delivery. I say "feel good" but they really do deliver great tasting meats. Way better than the supermarkets and often even the various butchers in the area, except in these odd cases where sometimes we get a beef cut that is a bit gamey for beef. If I want gamier red meat, it's venison.

Raisin Bran.
Weather outside is warm and I did not feel like cooking a hot meal for me and my girlfriend.

Churches Fried Chicken spicy, mashed and gravy, slaw, biscuits which were good this time and completely not like the honey cake crap I got last time SO BAD I started and thread here bitching about EM.

I intend to investigate this mystery.

ravioli lean cuisine.

We had herb and pecan crusted tofu with stir fried veggies.

Tonight, we will have mussels, steamed. Then, we shall sacrifice two ocean bottom dwelling crustaceans for our meal needs. (mother in law sent us some live main LOBSTAH! for my wife's birthday)

I am so eagerly awaiting this meal.

Met with friends at a Chinese restaurant so we had the usual: Peking Duck, fried rice, soup, pork soup dim sum, sweet and sour shrimp, and a Taiwanese omelet.

Is Peking Duck really that good and what would you compare the taste too?

If you like duck (which tastes like a gamier chicken) its delicious- crunchy, fatty, smoky, and savory all at once. Think of it as a duck wrap in a thin tortilla with sweet sauce.

We love duck, it is so delicious when prepared properly. When I render duck breast, I always keep the fat for roasting potatoes.

Vegetarian Mexican pizza.

A mess of different kinds of baked oysters, with a baked potato and a veg.

Son and family took us out to Polaris Grill for brunch. It was very nice. For dinner it is leftovers. I made barbecued chicken and tried a new recipe for potatoes that turned out to be very tasty so I thought would share.

Get a small bag of those very petite white potatoes.

Wash, boil in their jackets and set on a paper towel to drain.

Grease a cookie sheet with olive oil.

Place the potatoes on the sheet and with your potato masher press down partway to flatten.

Season with whatever you like and brush the tops with a little olive oil.

Place under the broiler for just a couple of minutes until they crisp up

Take them out of the broiler flip them and crisp the other side.

Then top them with shredded cheese of your choice and put them back under the broiler for a minute or so. They were yummy.

I love those potatoes. Have you tried adding a bit of apple cider vinegar and rosemary to the water when boiling? You'll love it. We have a nice cucumber salad and the meal is complete.

two small slices of veggie pizza
adult mac and cheese (the beer and cheese flavor.) my wife tasted the beer flavor. i couldn't tell because my nose is acting up a bit. still was good, though.

other two leftover slices of veggie pizza
garden salad with light ranch, bit of shredded cheese, and some cheese crisps.

I was amazed to read some of the posts in this thread. It sounds to me like it's really good food. I wonder how you guys pull it off. My mom cooks for 6 people and she says that she feels like she is always standing in front of the stove. How much time per day do you guys spend making and cooking food?

sesame noodles and vegetables
