What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

I had a 2:00pm hair apt' and then I went and did grocery shopping for next week because of my upcoming surgery. Before I came home I stopped by and picked up takeout Indian for dinner. Chicken vindaloo, extra spicy, vegetable pakoras, and garlic naan, plus a mango laasi.

When I was a kid our landlady had two fig trees in the back yard. She used to watch them like a hawk. I got caught many times trying to pick one. ๐Ÿ˜•
I had no idea you could grow figs in PA!

If I inquired about Indian food where we live, the locals would think I was talking about the noble Red Man.๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ. PA Dutchies donโ€™t get around much.
We have a restaurant in the city but have never tried it. They have quite a few more in the big city but who wants to drive in Memphis unless it is absolutely necessary.
Most of the dishes I make at home turn out pretty decent. Of course anything tandoor is out of the question.
Aldis offers a decent toaster size naan. Great with ghee and garlic or olive oil with Za'atar.

I went out to eat (actually sat down) for the first time in about a year. Local place, kinda family/business casual. I ordered a cheeseburger that came with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and fries, and a Moosehead Lager. I ended up only eating the fries and drinking the beer, there were a ton of fries and the burger was huge. Saving it for lunch/dinner tomorrow.

Super-salad
I am so happy that's a real thing.

When I was a kid I went to a restaurant and ordered an entree. They asked me if I wanted super-salad. I liked regular salad so I said sure. The waitress seemed confused, so she spoke slower, and again I answered affirmatively. People at the table started to chuckle, and one let me in on the joke that she was actually asking me if I wanted soup or if I wanted salad. Then everyone started laughing. I wanted to slide under the table. I picked salad. But I must visit the place of the super-salad someday.

Your story sounds familiar to me๐Ÿ˜‚. Iโ€™m hard of hearing and dining out is always an adventure with me. God bless my wife๐Ÿ˜‡. She has the patience of Job.๐Ÿ™„
