Partisan hacks get all hot and bothered about the dumbest things.

I guess arguing specific polices takes too much work; it's easier to focus on things that can be easily blown out of proportion and fed to the sheep...
 
IMO, our civil rights weren't given to us as much as we just decided to take them.

Exactly. As Mpg pointed out, man gives itself rights by force. And as I latered added, enters the social contract to enforce those rights without having to rely upon personal force.

"We the people" means something, as long as we want it to....

And have the will to do something about it.
