What Correction Would Be Appropriate To Discourage Someone Like Trump From Trying It Again?

Now that trump has desensitized us.

I have to give it to him for trying.

He really tried to put America First.

He just has some personality flaws, in that he puts Trump first too.

His tax cut is what did it to him.

Hopefully the deplorables learned their lesson. They should've got 8 years of presidency but they only got 4.

The could've had their pick of a hundred candidates who could've easily won a second term, Pence, Jeb Bush, etc, but they had to pick that turd trump.

eliminate the EC as a first step.
AHAHAHA. First off, you need a frigging Constitutional amendment to do that. the EC guarantees that urban shitholes never get to dictate the agenda for the entire country.

You know what your trouble is, and the problem with every leftwinger? You only care about power and control. You don't give a **** about liberty. This country is about liberty, not your socialist bent and agenda. Seems very difficult for you to understand.

Oh, the anger. I'm more angry and motivated than you are, though. I also can define socialism correctly.

Psychopathy examination. Mandating tax release and full accounting of financial ties. Release school records. IQ test with a minimum of 100 score to qualify.

Says the guy who supported the wannabe psychopath dictator.

I don’t know, maybe run better candidates to oppose someone like Trump?

Well, Trump put himself in the political spotlight, so now he might go to prison for his alleged crimes.

Define what "Someone like Trump" means and then what "From Trying IT Again" means. Trying what?

Simple. Change the Constitution and plug in whatever additional requirements you think someone should have for being president.

Maybe you could require that someone from a different demographic class be elected every four years. Maybe you could require that only social progressives are eligible. Maybe you should break down society in all the various constituent classes you can think of and eliminate the ones you don't like from eligibility. The possibilities are endless!

Well, that's going to take a constitutional amendment. Which would have to be ratified by 38 states. Which is extremely unlikely. The EC wouldn't be a problem for a political party that nominates candidates that appeal to a wide spectrum of voters.

Those who don't want Trump to run again need to stop the identity politics and radical left tactics of calling everyone they disagree with a racist (among other things). Trump is popular because conservative politicians tend to recoil when someone insults them and smears them. Trump pushes back and says the things people want to say. His abrasiveness only works because most people don't push back when they should and people are silenced by outrage mobs.

Vet the candidates better, if they only joined your Party last week they really are not one of you. 3 years minimum.

Require they have held at least one public office where there is a track record to review.

Pass a mental exam by a professional to determine if there are any underlying conditions that could make them unfit to lead the most powerful Nation in the planet.

Ensure they are not in debt up to their neck and don't owe money to forgien interests.

Make then pass a background check at the level it takes to get a Top Secret Clearance.

Soooooooooooooo important now that we know what a sick charismatic person can do.

He is not done, he may well succeed at getting this election thrown into the House for a one state one vote election.

i also find it to be unlikely, but i support it.

And instead state with less citizens than cities get the lever.

Tyranny of the minority instead of tyranny of the majority.

Crappy trade for the majority.

Close up all the loopholes and vulnerabilities in the law.
Take the Hatch Act.
Know why Trump thumb his nose at it?
Because it was vaguely written, poorly defined and the penalties are almost impossible to enforce.

If “it” was changes made to the federal income tax code, that took a majority in congress to accomplish - meaning that the (major?) offending act went well beyond personality flaws of the POTUS.

Correct, the entire Republican Party must be held responsible.

However, Trump signed the bill.

Ummm... Who the Hell says you're entitled to only have candidates you like run for office?

Like it or not, Trump's 2016 victory was the system operating exactly as intended. You shouldn't change a damn thing.

But Trump didn't win.

Has nothing to do with likeing any Candidate.

A personality like Trump needs opposition.

I don't expect to know if Biden won till January 20th when the secret service evict him.

So go ahead, have your P-a-r-t-y, and in the future teach your children that Trump Reigned for eight years.

Jeb Bush would have been slaughtered in a general election. Pence would have lost, but not be massively defeated like Jeb Bush would.

A truly unbiased psychiatrist would determine that anyone who actually wants the job of President is unfit to have it.

I've always thought that the job should be filled by drafting someone. For example, Peter Uebberoth did a terrific job with the Olympics and as Baseball commissioner, back when MLB still had a real one. So one night the Secret Service kidnaps him from his bed and he wakes up in the White House as President. ;)
