And, there was a time when a male singer would sing a song about love or lost love and a female singer would sing a song in answer the gentleman's song. Here is such an example. The first song is by Hank Thompson and the answer is by Kitty Wells:

Gena, that is my all time favorite Chris song as well! I listened to that song over and over when it first came out. Love everything he does.

It is a compelling song. I loved how it was used in "Wild at Heart". It's also very haunting.
 
If you liked Joss Stone, this song is a completely opposite style and isn't comparable in any way, except both are talented musicians. :lol:
