Fleetwood Mac - The Dance.

That's a live set. For all their pop rockishness the Mac rocked live. Probably saw them live a dozen times as a kid (but then I had a huge crush on Stevie Nicks which probably had something to do with it).

Robin Ward - Wonderful Summer

The singer here is actually Jackie Ward. I'll explain. In 1963, record producer Perry Botkin was looking for a session-singer for a song he co-wrote with Gil Garfield. He was looking for a "Lesley Gore" type voice. He found that voice in 30 year old singer Jackie Ward (nee McDonnell) who at the time was already married and had a child. The demo was recorded at the legendary Gold Star Studios (of Wrecking Crew fame) in Hollywood. Recording engineer Larry Levine artificially altered (slightly raised by ½ tone) the pitch of Jackie's voice so that it sounded younger ... like that of a teenager. It was agreed by all to release the altered-pitch track and Jackie borrowed the name of her young daughter (Robin) as the artist. Jackie went on to sing the theme songs for the TV shows The Partridge Family, Flipper, and Batman. Her singing voice was dubbed-in for actresses such as Janet Leigh, Natalie Wood, and Linda Evans. Jackie later toured with the Tom Scott founded California Dreamers band which was a fantastic Mamas & Papas tribute act.

Another temporary thing... for fans of psy-chill or chill-out electronic music...

Testing out the new Ustream ownership by Intel ... they paid a pretty $$ for the site... it seems they still allow free streaming...

This will be online for a short while... enjoy the tunes and visuals! :-) (there's chat too)

grab a cold one, fire one up, then lean back and enjoy the tones

It's starting to turn. People are finally beginning to reject Trump and all the hatred that surrounds him. Ironically Trump is unifying people - against him. Good things come from bad. At the same time and because of Trump and because of Sanders millions of Americans have come alive in their rejection of the oppressive status quo.

One thing that Sanders is showing Americans is that nothing of great political substance can change unless the People become involved. He is showing that it is possible. It is only partisans who not are sick and feckin tired of the system. Those who support status quo, the establishment, are becoming a minority.

Kiki Dee - I've Got The Music In Me

Kiki Dee (Pauline Matthews) of Bradford, England began singing with local bands in the early 60's and earned extra money as a studio session singer for artists such as Dusty Springfield. Her solo carreer blossomed after she signed with Elton John's Rocket Records. Her biggest hits were I Got The Music In Me and Don't Go Breaking My Heart (a duet with Elton John). She can also be heard singing on EJ songs such as All The Young Girls Love Alice. Never married, she lived for a number of years in California with EJ guitarist Davey Johnstone. In her late thirties, Kiki was diagnosed with an early stage of uterine cancer which was surgically removed. Later in life, she has teamed up with songwriter/musician Carmelo Luggeri to release a handful of CDs. Today Kiki is 69 years young.

I've always loved this song by various artists. Zydeco may be an acquired taste. One good, long night in New Orleans and you'll acquire it.
