saw this guy play live at Ithaca NY with a friend who was at Cornell

he was great-did a killer version of Elvis Costello's wonderful GIRLS TALK

His version of Girls Talk is terrific.

Speaking of which:

John Frusciante really tears it up with his guitar solo.

Dave Edmunds and some of his more famous friends:

Adrian Gurvitz - "Classic"

Thank you Connery!

Jackson Browne ~ (Honey Let Me Introduce You To My) Redneck Friend

And he wasn't talking about Gregg Allman.

I do love this song.

Love that picture. Hilton Valentine is playing a 1963 Gretsch Tennesean, which is identical to the one I bought in 1964 and still own. Purchase price then - $392 with case. Value now - about ten times that the last time I checked.

The bass player - Chas Chandler - 'discovered' Jimi Hendrix playing in a London club and later managed him.

Wow- very cool! Do you play it, or keep it put up to protect it?

I still play it, although right now I'm having a friend do a little work on the pickups and volume and tone controls. I've kept all of the original parts and I still have the case. Unfortunately the finish has faded from that lucious dark maroon to a brown on the front, although the back still retains its original color.

Probably this has been posted before ,,, I find it so haunting, so beautiful,,,

Dire Straits- "Brothers In Arms"

as the mighty Led Zep was becoming a bit lugubrious and ultimately sunsetting in 1980, two things really kept England rocking. One was the brilliant duo of Mick Jones and Joe Strummer of the Clash-as someone noted, it was basically all that rocked in the post Zep England. The other was the quirky and brilliant Elvis Costello (a couple years Later U2 picked up the mantel of course)
