We're done for

If we look that bad, Europe must look like a bunch of monsters. They losing people at a much higher rate than we are.

That's one of the better articles I've read lately. Very informative. Lots of things American media doesn't report (that I've seen, anyway).

People have been warning about Trump's go-it-alone approach since the beginning. It's not rocket science, folks. Bills come due. We're paying them now. Thanks, Trump.

That's not what the article is about.

You should read it. It's 100% anti-Trump and 100% non-partisan. (The words "democrat" and "republican" appear nowhere in the text.)

That's not what the article is about.

That's exactly what it's about. At the end of the day, it'll be The United States, once again, that saves the day. Europe will be a dead zone before this is over and The United States will have to come in and clean things up.

What in the hell do you expect what with a peckerhead for a leader like Trump!?

Wow that's a brutal article.......Europe is upset he stopped travel from Europe....when Europe stopped travel as well.....Italy and Spain, two of the hardest hit countries, but yea,we should welcome anyone with open arms, that's ****ing embarassing....

Why the hostility? the article is not about hostility but about how Dumald's mental collapse is damaging relationships that are in the US's interest.

And they'll change their tune when we come to save their asses, again. We'll be the saviors of the planet.

Fact is a new world will emerge and it will be one where the US has less control over, fewer nations willing to work with it.

By the time Dumald is gone it will be too late, the US will become an also-ran and the new international structures will not include the US as a dominant player, while Dumald is having seizures on camera these nations are already planning this, it will be too late.

We had a strong position and Dumald has thrown it away, we'll never get it back.

Very few people will say Italy and Spain are examples of good governance. Being closer to those countries in response than to countries like South Korea is not a great feat

That's not what it said. They are upset that Trump did it unitarily. The same thing he does here. Trump isn't king of the world, regardless of how much you want him to be. They're our allies. It's not bleedin' difficult to understand, mate.

Why yes. Trump is to blame for a chinese virus that has infected 160+ countries. America is doomed!!!! :coffeepap

The US half a million confirmed cases yet we've been dealing with it for slightly less time than Spain/Italy/France, even combined these amount to 450,000 - less than the US and we have tested just 1% of our population.

The US has a testing rate of 8,326 per million, Italy = 16,708 per million, Spain = 7,593, France = 5,114 - across the three countries the rate is therefore 9,805.

UAE, Bahrain, Norway, Switzerland, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Portugal, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark, Ireland, Canada and many more all have testing rates well beyond the US.

This is abysmal yet like Dumald you want to bury your head in the sand and pretend we're something special?

Dumald actually could be blamed for what has happened given that the US had a strong participatory role in China and planning and monitoring potential outbreaks.

He wound down aspects of that for one reason - Obama helped set them up - and in doing so he has decreased our ability to manage this, we had more control, Dumald tossed it away because of nasty Obama and now we are suffering the consequences.

If you regard Dumald as blameless then you deserve what's coming.

When was the last time you did that-and think carefully before you answer because I already know what you're going to say.

Oh wait, so in order to stop a pandemic, you think he should have asked permission first? What the **** is that?

No but he should respect international agreements and treaties and follow agreed procedures and processes. He can act unilaterally if he wants but as we can see he loses trust and an ability to partner.

If like Dumald you think the US can do whatever it wants then just watch where that goes, for example the bulk of the world's rare earth elements are mined in China...

America First -- not hard to understand. :rock
