Oh course in the age of DoGE it's certainly worth discussing whether our Army is better off spending $60M on equipment, training, and support for our soliders instead of using it to make soldiers march past Donald for an afternoon on his Big Boy Birthday Parade so he can show Vlad he's bigly too.

Let's cancel it, and if you're so adamant the Army spends $60M to honor them I'm certain for that kind of money we can find something that genuinely serves and honors them better (and has a longer lasting impact) than Donald's Big Boy Birthday Parade.
 
I'd prefer the administration spend the $60 million to adequately fund and support the military health system.
 
This is really offensive now as the news continues to leak out that the parade is Trump's idea pushed onto the Army's concept which did not include a parade.

The Army's idea was a Festival of activities and presentations at the Washington Monument grounds and that's it. Now though according to new news reports the WH moved in on the Army's idea to expand it into a parade of lethal weapons and troops with Trump as its centerpiece. This is totally offensive and overdone by Trump, for Trump and of Trump.

The parade, according to a U.S. official, was an idea pushed by the White House. The official spoke on condition of anonymity.
The parade’s finale includes the Army’s Golden Knights parachute team landing and presenting a “flag to the POTUS on behalf of the Army,” one planning slide shows. Trump will then preside over a ceremony enlisting and re-enlisting soldiers.

“Begins with the Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff of the Army reporting to the President of the United States followed by our Nation’s flag carried by the Honor Guard’s Color Guard and the Army Flag,” the planning document states. The parade is scheduled to last nearly four hours and be capped off with a fireworks display.

I am shocked - SHOCKED - that anyone would assume Donald was doing this as anything other than a selfless, heartfelt salute to the Army. Just look at the past 79 years of his life - be it fellow man or business or family or wives , Donald's behavior has altruism and self-sacrifice and humility galore!

Parade Route for the US Army 250th Anniversary Forced March from the Pentagon North Parking Area to Arlington Memorial Bridge Across the Potomac to the Washington Monument Grounds, June 14. The heavy machinery with tracked wheels will not go over the Arlington Memorial Bridge and start instead at the Lincoln Memorial on the DC side of the Potomac.



This is the Army’s proposed parade route of the Trump Forced March the Generalissimo Trump has demanded for Him Self.

The Trump Forced March is set to begin at 6 p.m. from the Pentagon's north parking lot. The Trump Forced March will proceed on Washington Boulevard alongside the Potomac. The Trump Forced March will turn right to go over Arlington Memorial Bridge. Once in D.C., the parade will use 23rd Street to get to Constitution Avenue.
