D you have any actual arguments or is it just cultish “trust the dear leader” nonsense?
The article states its down about 35%...that it happens during normal times...but if your gloom and doom is really as you project (and lets face it...Newsweek IS the biggest leftist rag pushing anti-Trump material going right now) then what you are REALLY saying is that the country is WAY too dependent on China and other suppliers.

It's going to get bad in the coming months folks. It didn't have to be this way. A global tariff war was a choice made by President Donald Trump.
During his 2024 election campaigning, Donald Trump promised Prosperity, a "golden age" for America. Instead we are careening towards empty store shelves, higher prices for virtually everything, rising unemployment, and a looming recession.
Then the answer is to subsidize do mastic manufacturers, not raise the taxes on poor and middle class people.
That's an interesting point. At the worst, tariff income could be used to collect revenues which could then subsidize domestic production to offset the effect on the poor and middle class.
Unfortunately, subsidies would usually take some time to work through as lower pricing. Tariffs, I expect, will hit consumers pretty fast.
Did you just call the OP a loser?https://www.nwseaportalliance.com/cargo-operations/vessel-schedules-and-calendar
There appear to be multiple container ships docked at the Port of Seattle unloading at this very moment with several incoming.
Imagine being a loser to such an extent you'd use an opinion piece to crow about an apparent bad situation at an American port. I suggest the OP try a little independent verification next time.![]()

Not “pretty fast” basically immediately.
And that’s not Trump’s plan with the tariffs. He wants them to offset the tax cuts he gives the rich, with the end goal of eliminating the income tax entirely, shifting the burden of taxation onto the poor and middle class.
I was talking about your proposal, not Trump's plan.
I seriously doubt his plans are that coherent, but I could be wrong.

Magats don't know how anything works. Not “pretty fast” basically immediately.

And Trumpco won't either, right up until they get their pink slip. There will be layoffs at the ports and in the domestic trucking industry in short order
All thanks to Trump
And the thing is? He does not care.
Even in my proposal, there wouldn’t be tariffs. Tax the income of the rich, don’t make prices higher for poor and middle class people.
Yep. The NWSA (marine cargo operating partnership for Seattle) says shipping traffic is normal. There are, however, reports of less cargo on ships. Of course, we had reports of more cargo on ships as a surge in purchases were made prior to tariffs kicking in.There may well be a serious problem, but the statement from the Seattle port commissioner is not too convincing.
He says that empty berths is something that happens from time to time (if only rarely), but then immediately says that the particular emptiness he's observing now is a "stark reminder" of something. And all the rest is conjecture.
Reasonably plausible conjecture, in my estimation. But this statement does not contain information that legitimately leads to the confusion that it's all about to hit the fan.
Again, maybe it is, but this statement isn't evidence in itself.
Don't know why you're having so much trouble. The post was pretty easy to understand. What are you even talking about? Do you know?
So that's what they are calling it these days? I guess "Trickle Down" is kind of dated, right? That's an interesting point. At the worst, tariff income could be used to collect revenues which could then subsidize domestic production to offset the effect on the poor and middle class.

Was I talking to you, HomeSlice?Don't know why you're having so much trouble. The post was pretty easy to understand.
You have no concerns about the serious drop in imports arriving at American ports as a result of tariffs?Poking fun at the doom and gloom obstructionists, negative nellies galore herein, lol. The sky is falling hysterics was too predictable, for the left has nothing else to do. All you have is to perpetuate negative, obstructionist threads as are happening.....it's really your only choice or path to follow.
But...but...its pandelerium! We might all die or maybe worse!!!https://www.nwseaportalliance.com/cargo-operations/vessel-schedules-and-calendar
