Adam was a created being, and was a son of God, but was not yet 'born of God'. He certainly would be later because all of God's children would come from Adam and Eve. The problem is that after the fall of man in the Garden, another seed line was introduced, the seed of the serpent. (Gen. 3:15) So now you have those born of Adam who are the children of God, and who also are the children of Satan.

Note that Jesus did not say, "you are not my sheep because you don't believe". He did say, " you don't believe because you are not my sheep". Big difference. The child of God believes because he is of God. Others do not believe, because they are not of God.

are you pushing a Calvinist Theology perhaps? if so, look over the other side of the fence and early church history and note that God chooses people for salvation based on their own free will.

God does not force his will on you, in fact he offers Salvation to ALL

All means all men, not just a few pre-selected men who God chooses based only on God's own desires.

if you want to be God's child, then kneel at the Cross, cry in Repentance and Faith and God will save. walk the narrow way with your new found faith into Life Eternal.

maybe you wanna dump yur Calvinist theology and grab for the Truth. Shank did and wrote a book about it and a few understand. i think you can understand this written on a seminary level....

i do it because the Audience here isn't really seminary and theological students. we are mostly having a Convo with atheists who are running from God for various reasons. if we dig tooo deep into theology we loose the most of them, there is another forum for that.

i can't guess what all their hangups are, so many times i start with the Lowest Common Denominator and try to get them all into my drag net. well a few escape, but most seem to grasp the message and shake their little fist at God anyway.

i can't control their response, but i do try to appeal to them on very simple entry levels, instead of long winded theology that others attempt here.


...so i use this kind of cartoon a lot and some kids cartoons if they seem to have even more hangups regarding the Gospel Truth.

many of our Fake Atheists are very adept at understanding the Bible and are very good at Preaching if only to beat me up with their miss-understood bibles they think they understand.

No, I am not pushing a Calvinist theology. But I do agree with much of that theology, just not all.

I disagree that God chooses based on our will. God's choosing occurred before He created the world. (Eph. 1:4) "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world...."

And, we are told man's will played no role in God's choosing. (John 1:12-13) "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And concerning them that believe, again, (John 10:26). "But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you."

Our will is certainly involved in the timing of our becoming saved and made children of God. But our will doesn't trump God's will and His choosing.

I see all these folks today attending their place of worship and I wonder why, why do so many believe in something that has never been proven to exist.

Half the good Christians on here drip venom towards others and can't understand when people like me challenge them.

Simple answer is, there are disagreements about what counts as all.

You might be thinking that it means every person on this planet, but that is not a universally held position.

IMO these disagreements are bolstered by powerful people who want to control the masses, rather than any actual solid reason for us to be against each other.

We, humans, are all members of the same animal species, and behave in much the same ways as other unique species.
We have evolved from living under no laws at all, to living under laws created by men attributed to have been from a God or Gods created by the same men, and finally living under laws created by governments we may or may not agree with, but are none the less subject to.
Some species of other animals and insects appear to live under laws of their own making for the benefit of their survival.

most of them were christians or influenced by some kind of christian influence at one time in their life. however when the Realities of life hit, they reacted by getting mad at God, fighting back saying he doesn't exist.

these kind prolly never had a real relationship with God, their religion was some kind of theological training that didn't connect much. they were tempted like Eve in the garden to become their own god, a 'roll your own' religion. the temptation i suppose is a faux freedom, as that route invites you to become god.

it works for awhile, but they still have to deal with life and Eternal life. the easy way is to just claim there is no eternal life, so grab for all the 'gusto' you can; like life is some kind of Beer commercial.

some probably have had a few financial reversals or divorce and other things which may have pushed them farther away from God. since they think they are god, then they must some how come up with their own faulty solutions.

As a Christian I believe what the Bible says about 'evidence'. Not what others want to require.

In other words, that is the evidence God provides and it is sufficient to render to every man accountable. This 'evidence' doesn't cause any to come to God by reason. But it does cause some to come to God by faith. And if one doesn't come by faith, he doesn't come. If one comes to God because someone has given 'evidence', then he doesn't come.
