Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW, today filed a pair of complaints concerning Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell's use of more than $20,000 in campaign funds for personal expenses.
"Christine O'Donnell is clearly a criminal, and like any crook she should be prosecuted," CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan said in a release. "Ms. O'Donnell has spent years embezzling money from her campaign to cover her personal expenses. Republicans and Democrats don't agree on much these days, but both sides should agree on one point: thieves belong in jail not the United States Senate."
CREW is requesting that the U.S. Attorney's office in Delaware open a criminal investigation and asking the Federal Election Commission to audit O'Donnell's campaign expenses.

I expect the usual partisan B.S. to crop up around any forthcoming investigation. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and if there is something worth investigating, the authorities can do their job without being hindered or pushed.

Wait what? Then why isn't Rangel in jail or at least punished for his violations? (assuming they merited jail). Justice within the government is blinded by partisan leadership. I must say though, that typically Republicans are better at ousting their law breakers and corrupt politicians over the Democrats. However, neither party is clean in those regards.

I have called for him to be punished if convicted, and if O'Donnell is guilty(which is yet to be proven), she as well should be punished with the full force of the law. Corruption and criminal acts should always be punished, and fully.

In 2007, CREW asked U.S. Senator Charles E. Grassley (R-IA) to investigate Stephen A. Moses who poses as an independent expert in long-term care insurance. The CREW website states, "CREW sent a letter to U.S. Senator Grassley (R-IA), ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, asking that he initiate an investigation into Moses and his organization, for posing as an independent expert from a respected think tank, rather than his true role as a front man for the long-term care industry. Additionally, this past December, CREW sent letters to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the National Association of State Medicaid Directors warning them of Mr. Moses’ ties to the long-term care insurance industry in advance of his national tour.
