Watch The ‘White People’ Cast Get Real About Race In This New Trailer

"hey help Vargas further explore ideas like white privilege, affirmative action and racial identity"

the idea of "white privilege" the very notion is a "judgment".

Oh yea. And you have not freaking idea what Orwellian is if you actually think this is an "Orwellian" concept

:doh :lamo No. No its not. Talking about a social concept is not "judgement", jsut because it makes YOU feel uncomfortable and YOU dont want to talk about it does not make it "judgement".

Not uncomfortable with **** bro. In fact i'd argue i'm far more comfortble with it than most college attending trustifarian social justice clowns.

So its judgemental... How..? Because people are talking to a camera and sharing their opinions about race?

I'd explain it to you, but my time is far too valuable
AKA you cant explain it. Essentially just throwing a buzzword out and hope it sticks.

So, the show isn't white kids crying over "white privilege" and an illegal alien publicly shaming them for "what they did to America"?

looking at both vargas and mtv's history, how could it be anything else?

It might be. I don't know. I haven't seen the show and given MTV's history of entertainment of...shall we say, questionable quality, I won't be watching it.

I've never black or white "shamed" anyone bro. i really don't care that I'm white, skin tone is not something to be proud of. I find the notion of race shaming..... wait for it..... rather racist. No matter who does it.

Sorry you feel differently. All this pc bull**** thats going around is going to backfire, read some of those comments. WOW.

Would you agree with any of these statements?

1) Black people were victimized by white people for most of this country's history and, arguably, it continues.

2) The fact that black people were victimized, and the way it was done, resonates through black culture today.

3) The conditions under which black people live in America are proportionately worse than for white Americans.

4) Education is the only conceivable path to equality that exists and the way it is funded in the USA is classist if not overtly racist.

I could think of more but these are a good start to determine the level of denial being practiced by this forum's readers. I sincerely believe that the greatest barrier to establishing a true equality in America is the fact that so many white Americans have never thought about any of these things and refuse to try to honestly consider whether they are true or not.

I can defend each of these statements with facts if anyone is interested in challenging me. If there are no challengers, then as moral beings, we have an obligation to change.

Do YOU own everything? Ownership as a group means nothing, since we don't work as a group. We work as individuals for ourselves.

I never said "we," did I?

What "priveledge", eh? One person has the priveledge of being forced to apologize for things they did not do while the other suffers the incredible disadvantage of not being held responsible for anything at all.

part a, yes, but I wasn't alive and never victimized them. today there are indeed racial issues but the biggest problem facing the black community is from within.

but you have scholarships you have AA you have all these advantages because one is black that I don't have, and I don't care. but to tell me I have a privilege, doesnt account for all these opportunities afforded young black people.

2) The fact that black people were victimized, and the way it was done, resonates through black culture today.

The only reason it does is because the race hustlers keep it alive.

3) The conditions under which black people live in America are proportionately worse than for white Americans.

Who's fault is that? If it's my fault explain to me how, and what I should do.

4) Education is the only conceivable path to equality that exists and the way it is funded in the USA is classist if not overtly racist.

Money per student in the inner cities is dispraportionatly higher in inner cities. You have a problem within where black kids who try to get an education and form a good life for themselves are accused of "Acting white" and are called out.

Problem is within.

This is that orwelian nonsense I get so sick of. If I don't agree with the mantra of the left I must be in denial. Dude, where I grew up, 80% of my school was black. I can't think there are other problems, more pressing issues in the black community that I have LIVED but must accept what you say and be shamed simply because I am white, I must.... come to love big brother.

**** that.

yes, AGREE WITH ME OR BE SHUNNED. seriously dude.

/facepalm

White women should have sex with black men for the rest of time, as an apology.

Come, on, man. Judging a person by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin is just so 1964.

Didn't you get the memo that for today's modern authoritarian leftist, such attitudes are now considered racist?

From the OP link describing the documentary: "In the newest trailer, you meet the cast of young people who appear in the film — and they bare it all. Sharing thoughts, feelings and personal stories about their race, they help Vargas further explore ideas like white privilege, affirmative action and racial identity: All with the goal of starting some real and honest conversations in a thoughtful, judgment-free environment."

I'm curious -- have you ever told the people who support you-- you know, old Mom and Dad -- that they didn't get that nice house and ability to send their teenage child off to college because they worked hard, sacrificed or any of that old-fashioned nonsense, since it is only white privilege that accounts for their success?

The sooner they come to terms with the fact they are just white devil oppressors, the better.

You

Ummmmm.. You really like to portray me of something that you have dreamt up in your little mind... You really like to rely on this card dont you?

old Mom and Dad --
Nope. They dont give me any $$$, nor do I live with them, nor do they support me financially.

that they didn't get that nice house and ability to send their teenage child off to college because they worked hard, sacrificed or any of that old-fashioned nonsense, since it is only white privilege that accounts for their success?
Where have I ever held such a position you just spewed off?

The sooner they come to terms with the fact they are just white devil oppressors, the better.

You
:sarcasticclap another mind numbing post that relies on a false ad hominem attack.

Rioters were judged by the content of their character yet those that judged are still called racists.

I doubt that was the intent of the Dream speech, ...... yet here we are.

Who knew a lil' mom and pop operation like Viacom cared so much about minorities. Its gnarly that mega media conglomerates have the balls to lecture working class whites about privilege.

What you and so many other "won't-somebody-think-about-the-white-folks!" pity-addicts don't realize is that "black shaming" was NORMAL for freaking CENTURIES, up to and including most of the last century. And you can't handle a little bit of it thrown your way, even when it's not even a fraction of the same level of "shaming" that the blacks endured?

Dude, man up, willya!

Either you wish to stop racial shaming or you're fine with it as long as you think the race in question deserves it. You've revealed the side you're on. The only thing left is for you to recognize it.

Boo hoo the blacks were slaves, the Jews were slaves too, they were even the victims of genocide, can't remember the last time I heard a Jew whine and cry about it. In fact in the bible Jews bragged about how well they kept their Masters house, when's the last time you heard a black guy brag about how well his ancestors picked cotton? American Indians same thing a race almost driven to extinction, nothing but pride and tales of endurance. I'm racist because a black guy can't pull his pants up, speak proper English or get a job. Un****ingbeliveable.

Guy, we whites got away with so much for so long...we've got no room to talk. It's only a fantasy that nonwhites could, after freaking centuries of legal prejudice, be told, "see, now you're equal" and then we should expect them to suddenly have opportunities equal to those of whites. This is something that takes generations, and even then the prejudice will not fade away.

Here's something I've learned in my travels around this world: Yes, racism is present in all nations, all cultures...BUT the prejudice committed by the dominant race/culture/religion is nearly ALWAYS more egregious than that committed by the race(s)/etc. that are not dominant. So it is in China against the Uighurs in Xinjiang province. So it is against the Ainu in Japan. So it is against the native Mexicans in Mexico. So it is against the Shi'a in Saudi Arabia. So it is against the Muslims (and the former 'untouchables') in India.

And so it is in America, by the whites against nonwhites, especially against the blacks. And it will stay that way as long as whites are the dominant race here. The only real recourse we have is to pass laws to give nonwhites more of an opportunity than they would otherwise have in this culture where they are born into a society where assumptions are made about them simply because of the color of their skin.

So when do you think the racist illegal alien who is featured in this piece of MTV trash going to speak the extreme racism they show against Blacks in the US? Would you like to come to Southern California and witness first hand the economic and social decimation they have inflicted on Black Communities here?

This liberal/progressive PC crap is appalling and only serves as a Dog Whistle to the usual troops.

A peculiar thing has occurred with the term "racist" over the years. When I was a kid, people understood racism to be a clear and persistent pattern of hatred of those not of one's own race. Beginning in the latter part of the sixties, and especially in the seventies, radical black racists managed to influence the dialogue in such a way as to change the meaning of the term so that they couldn't possibly qualify. In their game of identity politics, a racist HAD to be a white person, and the target HAD to be a minority. Further, there is now a pecking order of victim where black trumps hispanic which trumps asian which trumps white which trumps Jewish. Black leaders are free to talk about "Himeytown" since they are of the most correct skin color and their target of the most acceptable ethnicity.

If people simply had the ability to think clearly and establish a barometer for such matters that included all people equally, and if they operated from the standpoint that hating people based on race is wrong, we wouldn't even be having many of these sorts of conversations. Where so much of the hatred is coming from and where so much of the hatred is directed is obvious. Unfortunately, the targets are too often reinforcing the hatred by justifying it and then accusing anybody who DOESN'T like it as being the racist.

The word "racist", for all intents and purposes has come to mean "anybody who doesn't walk around with a stick up their butt about white people". Sure, there are still many good, old fashioned white racists who hate black people, but this number is absolutely dwarfed by the number of blacks who hate whites and the whites who feed into the whole sense of white guilt to the degree they soldier for them.

Racism is a term used by people that hate white people.

It's always amazed me how ignorant Americans are about their own country. These people are using the internet to make these posts. How hard would it be to pay attention to some non-mainstream media. You can get a start in your self eduction from most politics forums. There's lot's of links to the real info.

Honestly I've learned a lot on this forum
