Certainly, and when the US government can provide some actual evidence of some actual threat that can actually be reduced, Canada will be more than willing to see what can be done about it. Until then, expect some real "NAFTA2" level "wins" on the part of the US government. After scanning the news I should modify some comments I made earlier. Apparently Trump public threat has had a more immediate beneficial effect than I anticipated. Rather than getting strident and unyielding pushback it appears that both Canada's and Mexico's leaders bent the knee to the US.
Canada's Justin Trudeau has indicated he is willing to renegotiate security concerns,
That's strange. I meanand Mexico's president followed suit. Contrary in part to Trumps claim that Sheinbaum Parado has agreed to "effectively close the southern border' she has confirmed her "excellent" conversation with Trump and agreed to stop the migrant caravans from reaching the US.
"Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has sought to clarify details of a conversation she had with US President-elect Donald Trump, after the two leaders offered differing accounts of the call.
Following Wednesday's call, Trump said Sheinbaum had "agreed to stop Migration through Mexico, and into the United States, effectively closing our Southern Border".
This prompted Sheinbaum to say she had merely reiterated Mexico's position, which she said was "not to close borders but to build bridges between governments and people".

Yep, as disconnected from reality as the first half of the post. This is, of course, only the opening positions of both parties and in negotiations I am sure Trump will expect more, especially from Mexico.
In any event, Trump demonstrated to Biden and Harris and the Democrats that this situation never had to be - had Biden the backbone or desire to stop the flood. It also demonstrates the insincerity of the administration on this issue.
