[W:849]Michael Cohen Testifies

Well it's hard.... he knows that Cohen is a liar so it's deflection......
We see this this over and over from the same poster! :2razz:

Well... If he chooses to embarrass himself in public, he won't see me try to stop him.
:popcorn2:

Rep. Meadows is about to blow a gasket! He's in full attack mode, raising his voice. He's determined to get Cohen to admit to falsifying his federal disclosure form.

Its pretty funny.

Especially when you consider Don J leaving off important information on his background checks.

Meadows is a first rate asshole...Desperate to defend trump....He has failed...Big time

They think they got him, but no, they will never get the POTUS. Nothing said here today is new news.

The Democrats have taken the public's money to further embarrass our country today with pure political theater.
Michael Cohen is such a tool.

The trouble with your theory is that it ignores the fact that Cohen will pay and pay big if he lies here. He has only motivation to be truthful, he's hoping for a further sentence reduction for cooperation. Anything he gives, must be corroberated, due to credibility, but if he gets through all of this successfully, even if you don't see or understand it, this is very bad for the president any way it's looked at.

For the Democrats to actually get Trump with this, impeaching him, the need to get a lot right, no telling if they will or not. The trouble is, this is damage to the president that will sloly grow, it is not going away. It will make him unelectable, if he already isn't. The Democrats would obviously need help in the Senate, but this is a time bomb. As it goes on, more and more damage to the GOP< and the Senate won't be able to ignore it forever.

I cannot figure the GOPs motive for protecting the president, and I know that many of them privartely, do understand the damage they're doing to their party by continuing to support him. The celebrity reality TV show appeal can't be woth the long term damge.

Both parties can and may really blow it over this president. The fact remains, their just isn't any motive for lies here, and corroboration, is necessary for credibility, but politically or criminally, this is damaging the president, and the damage will only grow. The Democrats would have to grossly overreach to even possibly make the president re-electable. Not impossible, but at this point, they have shown no sign of that.

Donald Trump's big mistake was not dropping out from the primaries. I have no personal doubt, he regrets it greatly now. He doesn't even want to be re-elected. I'm not sure how his fans don't see that.

He has good reason to because Cohen did.

Cohen is a very credible witness...Just a like Mafia Hit Man...Doesn't make him a good guy, but he knows where the bodies are buried...trump is getting his ass kicked today....

More old news treated as if it is breaking news.... Why?

Much renewed condemnation of Trump's blackmail payment to Stormy Daniels. The blow-up check will be a great visual. But it's not new news. From WP, May 2018: http://ow.ly/zrOw30nR4Lg

Now Cohen exposed for falsifying evidence to the committee and lying under oath and the chairman covers for him. Democrats are dirty as sin.

What politician is not partisan at this point?
Most if not all, then again between the extremes where some on both side operate and adherence to political principles there IS a big difference.

Exactly why Trump hired him.

Or rather "retained" him.

Look, Cohen eventually came to inherently understand how Trump operates. It's akin to many of his supporters listening to him speak in sputtered English...incomplete sentences...and knowing what he means. I have a hard time listen to him and following his meaning most of the time. You have to recall what he said earlier just to understand him in full. Sorry...I don't have time to recall something someone ramble on about 5 minutes ago. But Cohen, having worked with Trump for a decade, has become proficient in interpreting Trump-speak.

Now, if you've ever worked for the same person for years, you begin to anticipate their mode, their behavior, their intentions, their coded speech. And you act on that symbiotic relationship. That's what Cohen did.

Justin Amash is one of the few respectable Republicans in office. I hope he sticks around for a while.

Geez..... Even CNN? Thinks Cohen is a liar?

CNN Panel: Cohen Lied When He Told Congress He Never Wanted White House Job
CNN Panel: Cohen Lied When He Told Congress He Never Wanted White House Job

A CNN panel said Michael Cohen made a false claim Wednesday when he said he never wanted a job in the Trump White House during his testimony before the House Oversight Committee.

"The one potential problem that I thought Michael Cohen has is when he was asked if he wanted a job in the White House, and he said no," correspondent Dana Bash said. "Our reporting, I know, Pam, you have been told and I have been told, all of us, by people in and around the process real time, he very much wanted a job in the White House."

Host Jake Tapper played the clip in which Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) pressed Cohen about his desire to work in the White House.

"How long did you work in the White House?" Jordan asked.

"I never worked in the White House," Cohen responded.

"That's the point, isn't it, Mr. Cohen? … You wanted to work in the White House, but you didn't get brought to the dance," Jordan continued.

Cohen denied Jordan's claims and insisted he was "extremely proud to be personal attorney to the president of the United States of America."

"I did not want to go to the White House. I was offered jobs. I can tell you a story of Mr. Trump reaming out Reince Priebus because I had not taken a job where Mr. Trump wanted me to, which was working with Don McGahn at the White House general counsel," Cohen added.

"I think the issue there is that one sentence: ‘I did not want to go to the White House.' All of our reporting suggests that's not true," Tapper said.

Does anyone have any evidence that Cohen is lying so that his ass can be nailed again?

Rep Amash was the first republican that wasn't clutching his pearls pretending that Cohen was there to eat his babies.

Trumpanzee responses in this thread are so generic, it's rather obvious that they are not watching the hearing at all.

#LUCY#FOOTBAL

#PUNK'd AGAIN

Most if not all, then again between the extremes where some on both side operate and adherence to political principles there IS a big difference.

Agreed, the problem isn't that they are partisan, it's that they are extreme,

A democrat, AND a republican should..in theory be able to look at a Problem.....agree that it's a problem......disagree on the solutions, and not have it devolve into what it is now, enemies, idiots, patriots, etc all that is going to do is lead into a divided country and another civil war at some point in time.

Rep Amash was the first republican that didn't pretend that Cohen was there to eat his babies.

I've been a fan of his for some years now. Wish other politicians were half as upstanding/honorable as Amash.

Because they aren't you? It's not up to you to say what our president regrets.

Look, I appreciate the effort you put in for the above verbosity, but we learned nothing new here today. If you did, :?
This was pure Democrat Political Theater.

Boy you must be felling this right now, huh?

:laughat::rwbdonkey

Why?

This is going to cost the GOP politically. It may cost Trump criminally, though I suspect not. Cohen's testimony, as long as he doesn't perjur himself, and it's corroborated, will end Trump's presidncy by 2020 at least by making him un-electable. The sad mistake from Mr Trump, is that this whole fiasco, will likely cost him everything. All he had to do, for this to have been a success, was drop out, but celeb status and his ego, wil lend up costing him all eventually.

Don't you even understand, Cohen was truthful Trump never wanted to win? He sure doesn't like the job. I wonder if it won't cost his very life. His age and health, can't hold out too long under stress like this. If it does, his ego, will have cost him all, I Hope he flt it was worth it. I can't see how it is, but it's not me, so my only hope is that America gets past it.

Lol@ all the rabid Republicans.

Sent from Trump Plaza's basement using Putin's MacBook.

Well, Gibbs, Cohen was going to speak to the committee while Trump was in the US, but Trump and Giuliani decided to threaten him over Twitter.

Interesting...11 cleared checked from President Trump paid to Michael Cohen repaying him for payments Cohen made as hush money. I'm curious why Cohen didn't think to obtain copies of those other 11 checks ahead of this hearing?

He can still get them easily enough. He'd just have to log onto his bank account online and print them. The thing folks need to remember here is since many major banks conduct electronic banking, those check are in the system and cannot be destroyed. So, if he's able to present them as additional evidence, Trump is really screwed!!!

This was pure Democrat Political Theater.

Because your sole purpose is to seek confirmation bias, I would suspect.

It's not about new necessarily, but it clearly shows the recklessness and disregard for law, of the president. There is no way this doesn't cost him. It will be a slow burn, like an ember that slowly takes down a forest. I'm not surprised that MAGA country refuses to see this for what it is, but it is the end of the Trump presidency, at very least by unelectability, and very likely the end of the Trump business, probably on eventual RICO charges. I'm sorry that you feel this is acceptable in a president. The GOP used to have credibility and honor. Those days left with GHW Bush largely. I'm sorry you can't see that. Perhaps one day you will come to understand I hope.
