[W: #795] At least three people have been shot at the homes of Minnesota Democrats in overnight attacks by a gunman posing as cop

Summary

  • A Democratic state politician has been killed and another has been injured after "targeted shootings" in the US, officials say
  • Melissa Hortman and her husband have been killed, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says
  • Democratic state lawmaker John Hoffman and his wife were also shot in a separate attack, and Walz says he is "cautiously optimistic" of their recovery
  • Walz says the attacks at the lawmakers' homes in two towns near Minneapolis "appear to be a politically motivated assassination"
  • The suspect is believed to have impersonated a police officer and escaped after engaging fire with officers, police say
  • The shootings took place in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, two neighbouring cities near Minneapolis

There is no doubt that the murders were politically motivated.

Way, way past time for violent rhetoric to be stopped.

It’s unfortunate that you do not know the difference between murder counts and murder rates. But, whatever it takes to back a fellow soldier and demonize the leftist filth, eh?

I do know the difference. The subset in the post I was responding to was selected by population size and then compared by Per-Capita murders. I could have made the point clearer by pointing out that Minneapolis is above median murder rate in that subset of cities. My point was the fact that lower population has a magnifying effect of murder rate statistics, so a city with a lower population set will tend to be over represented in murder rate. People seem to have read the wrong point into my statement.

In the end, what I was wrong about was that the subset of 100 largest cities is kind of top heavy in Murder rate, so raking 42nd is 8 spots above median, but that placement is actually represents ~70% higher than average murder rate for large cities, which is higher than I expected. The average large city murder rate in 10.5/100,000 and Minneapolis was 17.9/100,000 in 2024.

But that's not what's going to happen.

Next up: The craziest person on the left.

The police are saying the shooter's car was decked out to look like a police cruiser.

This guy put a lot of planning into this.

Eh, a marginal attempt to run air cover for your fellow soldier. In the future, please be more thorough when racing to defend @Metric Mouse. He was counting on you to have his back, but you couldn’t stick the landing and failed to properly demonize the city of Minneapolis in order to defend his honor. I don’t see how you can expect to own the left in the future if you can’t efficiently demonize a Minnesota city.

Walz says it looks to be politically motivated.
Unlike Tim Walz?
I guess we're supposed to assume something cause the knucklehead himself ain't saying in what way precisely.
Besides, assassination attempts have been coming from Timpon's crowd.

Dude....the GOP only wants violence and is the only ones with the rhetoric for violence for any opposition. Time to start banning the GOP from elections. If not, get ready for a one-party dictatorship...which is what the GOP wants.

So what you are saying is that Trump loves you. Ok. Not sure why you are bragging about that but you do you.
Oh - how clever of you. I hope you're proud of that comment, as it clearly represents a high point of your sophomoric wit.

There are many people in this country who have more education than I have, but they are in the minority.

Reading comprehension not your strong suit huh.
And neither is yours. You say the American VF would never bow to a King. Look at them! They are bowing to the King! Traitors. You veterans are all traitors too. What 'war' did you fight in? The one against sweeping because that's what American 'veterans' mostly are. That's why they hate the American public.
