[W: #795] At least three people have been shot at the homes of Minnesota Democrats in overnight attacks by a gunman posing as cop

All three are Democrat politicians.

This is a triple assassination attempt on politicians. Very serious and frightening situation.

Yeah. People are getting so far over the top in this instant hate fed political world. It's stressing out young people and kids to the point they all have OCD or some other disorder.

This should be frightening enough for people to step back from the intensity and ask, "do we really want to destroy our Democracy no matter how much you dislike opposition?"

I have not assassinated anyone so that criticism doesn’t work. Zooming out to the bigger picture, maga has been so destructive to this country that one has to have a bit of dark humor to deal with those people.
I do agree with the dark humor regarding MAGA.

Locals call it muderappolis for a reason.
I don't know what reason that would be as Minneapolis ranks 43rd of the 100 cities.... nothing of distinction....

That said, this is some type of planned political assassination, not a street crime. As such, it is far more of an indictment of the state of American political discourse and our affinity for violence. It seems we are now starting to see a convergence of these things. It seems it has become acceptable to some to resort to violence to settle grievances in America. There should be outrage, but it should be reflected on this...

So, rather than distance yourself from this by attributing to something local, perhaps you should use this moment to reflect on what it currently means to be an American. Join us as a part of the community affected. All of us should be looking in the mirror and thinking about how we contribute to a climate that says this is "ok".....

for example, were you outraged by the man-handling (an act of violence) of Senator Padilla yesterday? Do you not think that should have been called out? Do you not see how something as seemingly benign as that helps develop a permission structure for what happened today in Minnesota?

We likely could start a good thread on how and why violence has worked its way back into American politics....

Hope the evil person is caught.
Agreed!

But they are 46th in population. So they'd be slightly above the average in murder rate.
...but why digress????? You are off topic. (I'll indulge you for a moment --- note you are comparing a murder rate, which is murders per XXXX, so the size of the city is not relevant)

Motive could be anything at this point, and I'd warn folks to not get ahead of the facts at this point.

Oh well, as we both can read, that's not happening.
Some will never let a good crisis go to waste.

Thoughts and prayers for the victims, and hopefully they catch the shooter soon.

State Rep Melissa Hortman and State Senator John Hoffman were both killed.

Not nearly as frightening as the answer to the question.

:cautious:

Sorry a correction - Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed. Senator John Hoffman survived. He and his wife were shot multiple times.

1. Likely some illegal or Muslim involved in their killing.
2. Stop blaming Trump or the Rightwing, stop showing TDS and "hatred."
3. Well, it's Minnesota, what do ya expect?
4. What is the big deal? Whatabout............ all them riots, whatabout...........Joe Biden........... whatabout whatabout something something.

You are correct. This is obviously designed to distract us from the terrible violence the "left" is committing in LA and other cities.
Under normal circumstances the sarcasm is obvious, but don't think for a minute there won't be mindless minions who will actually believe that conspiracy.

Trump's America!

This is what you Cult members voted for.

Immature trolling.

I'm missing those times when the controversial stuff was Obamacare, the Infrastructure Act, the CHIPs act and making sure Vets were given benefits they deserve as the stock market was stable and gradually went up.

The country was in a much better place in 2015.
