Which is an opinion that makes no sense at all as they have no motive to want a no deal. Boris would be heavily criticised in the UK if this happened...which I am sure he would want to avoid.
The EU have a very compelling motive to want a no deal. They want to show the other member states how difficult it is to end their membership of the EU.
The EU will probably cave in again as the Germans are already predicting disaster for their motor industry if there is a no deal....and they pull the strings of the EU leadership.
The EU has not caved yet, so why should they do it "again". The only one who has caved is in fact Boris, and he has in fact caved somewhat on parts of the fishing deal.
And the EU does need to show how hard it is to leave the EU... the UK did that all on its own with its bungled Brexit. Danes were one of the nations that maybe could leave.. but now, the last polls show 70% support. Good job UK!
Lol! You have the same hackneyed view of the "Empire" that many anti-Brits have.
Not really...it is called facts.. stuff that Brits actually dont get taught in school.. very few know of the Bengal famine caused by Churchill..
The Empire was created during a time of no or limited democracy when monarchs or the filthy rich called the tune. It was never something the average working class Brit was interested in. Democracy, both in the UK and its colonies put a welcome end to that period of British history.
LOL what a load of bs. The British Empire was created because the British could not hack it on the continent. It was created by intimidation, violence and worse. There is plenty of evidence that the British saw "locals" as sub-humans. And funny how you forget your own countries history and why it was created.. talk about being in denial.
I personally am thankful to Britain and its former colonies for their sacrifice in freeing Western Europe from fascist EU nations and also preventing further Communist expansion into Europe.
Yea that was great.. but starving millions of Indians, killing 10s of thousands of Boers and all the other crap the British Empire did... was not so good.
If you read my post again you will see that I was comparing the cost of cars from Korea and Japan to EU cars. The EU cars will not only lose the tariff free advantage they have had for years but will have tariffs imposed on their importation.
Or perhaps you haven't caught up yet with the latest news :
"10% import tax on new cars from European Union"
Government will switch to World Trade Organization rules post-Brexit; tariff could change if deal is struck
www.autocar.co.uk
Was too be expected. Will only hurt the UK consumer.. /shrug.
As for Nissan, you need an update there too as the anti-Tory Guardian reports :
"Nissan 'could pull out of EU and expand in UK after hard Brexit'"
Carmaker considers focusing on UK market if there are tariffs on exports, according to report
www.theguardian.com
That was what... 8 months ago? Things change fast these days... that was pre covid.
"Nissan proves Remainers wrong as it looks to move manufacturing from Spain to UK"
BRITISH manufacturing was handed a boost yesterday amid reports that Nissan is considering moving the manufacture of two Renault models from Spain to the UK.
www.express.co.uk
Express? HAHAH, you actually believe what they say? They lie and manipulate in every article.. even on shit like computers. They pushed an article saying that MILLIONS of Whatsapp users were going to lose Whatsapp. A whole page of "how bad is Facebook" shit, and then one line... "will effect phones that use Android 2.3 and older"... wtf? That is a 10 year old operating system.. who the hell still has a 10 year old smartphone? This is just one of many bullshit stories in the Express.
Yes the plants are closing, but that has been in the cards for years. Lack of demand. So are you telling me, that under Covid, that moving the manufacturing to the UK will suddenly spur demand for said cars? Get real. And that those cars made there, will be 10% more expensive at a minimum than one produced in Europe? Yea, great idea to move to the UK... NOT! Not to mention, Nissan is partially French.... so doubt the French will want this to happen.
