[W:68] Republicans launch bill to prompt history of COMMUNISM teaching in schools to combat CRT (1 Viewer)

Finally, someone in power with common sense is quashing this garbage.
A guaranteed to fail dumb ass right wing bill to counter the nonexistent threat of CRT.

Laughably pathetic.

Better yet, if they made the complete history of the Democratic Party mandatory in public schools, it would be the end of the Democratic Party.

"Oh geez, not this :poop: again."

Sorry, but if you’re going to call others ignorant on a subject — as you did — you shouldn’t first be in that position yourself.

Merry Christmas to you, too.
If they are calling all Dems communist, then yeah they are ignorant on the subject and the meaning of communism..

You can't seem to bring yourself to criticize your fellow Republicans... You try to pass yourself as moderate, but you just can't bring yourself to tell your fellow Republicans no one is aligning with Stalin, and Dems aren't communist... Kind of weak on your part...

That seems to be a problem in today's Republican party...

Again.. Merry Christmas and a Happy new year... Snowed here last night.. I got to go shovel... Damn!

Knock it the hell off. You democrats are nothing but communists and you know it. We're being nice by calling you socialists, but that is too mild of a term. You people are aligned with Stalin and Xi, just like you keep calling us fascists for no apparent reason trying to link us somehow with Hitler. All of this is ridiculous except the Chinese communists are un fact real and threatening. Fascism ended at the end of WWII.

Racism, racism, racism - that's all you talk about and teach young kids about it. I can't tell you how pissed off I was the night my 7 year old asked at dinner "Daddy, what is racism?" Then the other kids ask too. Thanks a lot, you bastards for teaching my kids a word they did not know yet nor did they need to know yet. Stupid shits - all of you.

If 'racism' is your big thing, why are the kids being separated by race at school related to this CRT BS in certain classes? A large group of us plan to seek an end to this ASAP. We could care less how many FBI and FBI undercover agents are at the school board meeting.

Why is all of this being done in secret? What do you commies have to hide CRT if this BS is so great? What the hell does it prepare my kids for in life? N O T H I N G.

Teach them about the stock market.

Misinformation about global warming my ass. No such thing. The Earth is coming out of an ice age and we are warming up. That's life.

This is the ultimate BS - that global warming has shifted the axis! Other scientists claim that the axis shifting is causing a minor increase in the earth's temperature.

So what's next? Are you going to try to re-tilt the Earth back?

I couldn't get past the ridiculous lie in your first sentence. When I read a lie, I stop reading. There is no reason to continue reading since I no longer believe a word the person has typed.

You obviously don't know what communism is.

I do. My education and degree is in accounting/finance. I had to take economics courses all through college.

Communism is an economic policy of no private ownership of property, real estate and business.

I am a liberal. Not a democrat.

I owned a business for years. I was so successful I was able to retire when I was 54 years old.

The only communists in the USA are members of the American communist party.

That isn't the democrats.

The democrats have their own problems and drawbacks but communism isn't one of them.

Democrats in our nation are capitalists. They own property, real estate and business.

So knock off the lies. It's very old and tired. it only works on stupid and ignorant people like you who don't know the meaning of the word communist.

Better yet, if they made the complete history of the Democratic Party mandatory in public schools, it would be the end of the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party saved the country from socialism in the 1930s and the capitalists have never forgiven them for it.

“Brown paper packages tied up with string” is a dogwhistle lyric for pro-slavery white supremacists.
Yikes. How about blue envelopes with included adhesive strips? I want my national curriculum on stamp collecting to focus on stamps, not your #CRTisAwesomesauce and #whitedudesmatter material that already has its own supporting legislation.

Ah, no. As is plain from my profile I do not consider myself a moderate with the possible exception of some social issues and even then probably not by the standards of the modern day liberal.

As for not criticizing Republicans, read what I’ve written about Trump on this site.

I went to U.S. public schools in the 1980s and 1990s, and we learned about Communism. Is this not taught in schools these days? I often wonder when I hear these feverish claims about the local schools not teaching this or teaching that, how many people actually have direct, personal experience in the schools. I certainly am not in education, so haven't been in a K-12 school since I graduated High School, but I'm in my late 30s, I am suspicious of claims that the school systems have massively changed in the last 20 years.

I grew up in a rural and conservative area, almost all of our local teachers were conservative religious people, regular church goers etc. I don't doubt that in more liberal parts of the country the teachers are also more liberal, but I remember even our teachers who all had pretty open conservative and religious bents, tried to keep themselves neutral on issues of religion and issues of politics. I remember learning about Marxism and Communism in "broad strokes" and the teachers would usually mention how the communist countries tended to collapse over time and have bad economies, but they didn't go on a sermon about "Communism bad" or "Communism good", they seemed to actually be interested in teaching us the history, not their personal beliefs. I sometimes wonder if I got lucky (which I doubt, the low income, rural area I grew up in had poorly rated schools and was not considered well educated), or if people today just are hyperventilating about minor issues in the schools.

As someone from a Greek Orthodox family, we always understood that we were outside the American mainstream. We were not going to learn our cultural and religious history through the local culture, that was the job of parents and family. A lot of these people who seem to take issue with public schools in my opinion are lazy and bad parents. The public school is not the primary educator of children, it is a baseline educator of children, but parents are the primary educators. You may not know algebra and may not know enough chemistry to teach those topics, but learning about ethics and the type of person to be is what parents are for, I see far too many people who seem to think the local schools should be doing this work for them.

Video with VA Lt. Governor Winsome Sears stating that CRT has been in our schools for many years -

Democrats slipped this garbage in under Obama without ever telling us. Very nice and all above-board, of course, which is why you never told us about it. This is the way sneaky democrats operate - everything must stay hidden because they damn well know that Republicans and other normal people - including some+ of their own - would never approve this racist stupid stuff you want to force our kids to learn.

Forget it. I'd rather the kids learn something useful like a course on the stock market or banking/accounting. Some course that has a practical application in life, not this fantasy BS.

You seriously need to stop paying attention to badly educated people who don't know what they are talking about.

The massacre happened in 1921. That is 56 years after the civil war ended.

Greenwood Oklahoma became what was called "the negro Wall Street" because black people flocked there after the civil war and prospered.

They built an area in the city that was very successful.

I think it's very ignorant to believe that people can't work hard and succeed.

I know it didn't take me 56 years to succeed when I started a business. By the time I was 54 years old I was successful enough to retire. I started my business in my mid 30s.

CRT is ONLY taught in graduate courses for a law degree. If you aren't in law school, it's not being taught to you or anyone.

Stop with the lies. It's so old and tired. It's also embarrassing to know we have such stupid liars in our nation.

The Democratic Party saved the country from socialism in the 1930s and the capitalists have never forgiven them for it.
The Democratic Party ARE the socialists, and created federal socialism for the very first time during the 1930s with the fascist New Deal programs, one of which gave us the unconstitutional Socialist Security. It was also the Democratic Party that illegally tried to nationalize the steel industry in 1952. So pretending that the Democratic Part saved us from socialism is laughable on its face. Even today the Democratic Party are entirely socialists and communists, as evidenced by the unconstitutional legislation they continually pass, like MediCare/MedicAid, Affordable Care Act of 2010, and CARES Act of 2020.

I think kids should be taught the failings of Communism and Marxism, because it's obvious based on public opinion polls that there are far too many young Americans who have no clue just how bad they are and the misery they would usher in.

.

Should we also teach the failings of capitalism?

She nailed what? That the Tulsa massacre was right after the civil war?

Exactly.

It shows that the people who think it happened right after the civil war are very uniformed and ill educated people.

It happened 56 after the civil war ended.

I don't know about most people but I don't consider a time span of over half a century as a short period of time.

I had a private education during 1950s and 1960s, and like you only got taught about Marxism and communism in broad strokes and generalizations. Perhaps it was the times, but we were also taught both socialism and communism using current events. Always using other nations as examples, however, never applying the lessons learned to the US. Now that I look back on it, the teachers I had never inserted their personal ideology. Unlike teachers today, my teachers never organized any political protests involving students. However, we were taught about how Hitler's "Brownshirts" and "Hitlerjugend" were used to further his political ideology and propaganda in exactly the same way the Democratic Party uses children today.

You were not outside of the American mainstream, you ARE the American mainstream. Nobody in North America originates from North America. We are all immigrants from somewhere. My family migrated from Ireland to the US during the 1890s. Before the Democratic Party started their hatred and divisiveness with "multi-culturalism" during the 1970s we were a "Melting Pot" of different cultures, and that is what made the US strong. It was the Italians, Germans, Greeks, Irish, English, Polish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and every other culture coming to the US in support of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" that makes us all mainstream Americans.

I was not taught Irish history, tradition, and culture, I was taught American history, tradition, and culture. I am an American who just happens to have Irish ancestry. I am not a hyphenated American.

Social Security is hardly socialism. And if the government hadn't instituted a command economy to fight the Nazis, we would not have won WWII and created the greatest muddle class the world has ever seen.

And Truman was no communist.

Hyperbolic blather.

Trump is the leader of the current Republican Party.. I don't give a shit that you attack him, your defending the GOP and Trump's supporters speaks volumes..

Btw... Read post 91 in this thread and explain to us how SS and ACA means the Democrats are communist..

You want me to define communism.. Ask that poster how SS and ACA is communist... I dare ya... ;)

I would generally agree that Social Security isn't strictly speaking socialist--primarily because it has a requirement that you accumulate enough "points" or work quarters over a lifetime, and the tax itself is capped at the first $142,000 or so in wages, which limits how redistributive it is. The more you pay in, the more you get out, which isn't strictly socialist. However it is still a "better deal" for the lowest income brackets in terms of what it pays back out.

Medicare and Medicaid are strictly speaking socialist though, they socialize the cost of healthcare and there is no tying of what you paid into what sort of benefit you can receive.

They need to read and re read this comment 10 times over.

If you believe democrats and communism are synonymous, you don't know politics or history and should not be recommending school curriculum to literally anyone. Ever.
